Great story, mystery surprises in the end. Interesting and good reading. Characters good. Hope they write a sequel.

The Voices in my Head!

I really enjoyed how Liza Tully used the two main characters as different voices. It seemed like the detective was my analytical approach to solving life's riddles, and the assistant was my emotional side. Whenever I found myself trying to solve the case while reading, one of the characters would ask the question I was thinking. It is brilliantly written and kept me on the edge of my seat (or step as I listened to it while walking). It needs to be the start of a series...please!

just okay, main character is annoying

started off seeming like it was going to be a really fun story but it was not that interesting, the characters were very middle of the road and a bit obvious choices, and the main character was very annoying and kept rattling off on completely irrelevant items

Good story, but could have been shorter.

Great narrator and good story. The editor should have lopped around two chapters off though.

An engaging mystery

I can honestly say that I enjoyed every minute of this book. The characters were relatable and interesting. The story moved rapidly to a surprising conclusion. Wonderful! The reader Emma Ladji was perfect.

Lots of twists and turns

Loved how we were learning just as the main character was- a new assistant, learning how to investigate and making mistakes. Tons of suspects and lots of twists - plenty of layers to keep you guessing until the final chapters!

Kept me guessing until the end

Boring and cliche

Fun premise but poorly written, overly saccharine, and also (spoiler alert) falls into offensive cliches about lesbians. Disappointed.

Get to the point!

This book should have been 2 hours. It dragged and dragged with useless information that appeared to be there just to fill time. I could not wait for this to end. The main character was unlikable, childish and just plan stupid. I HATE THAT I WASTED TIME WITH THIS. I feel dumber having listened to it.
