Absolutely butchered A Christmas Carol
The stories are fantastic but the guy who performed A Christmas Carol destroyed my Christmas spirit. I love listening to this tale every Christmas, usually multiple times since it’s a quick listen. But this year the only version I have is this one and I just can’t get through it. It’s like they gave the guy the script with no punctuation. He pauses in the middle of sentences and then awkwardly finishes it so it sounds like a new half sentence. I’ve never heard anything like it. It’s SO SAD because he has a likable voice, does the different characters in other likable voices but struggles through the sentences so poorly that it makes my ears bleed!!! I keep playing just a little bit more while I’m washing dishes, or doing something else around the house, thinking maybe I can get used to it but it’s just unbelievable and he has skipped whole pages. I know the book almost by heart and even if you didn’t know the book you’d be left confused by the missing parts. Really, really frustrating and disappointing.
