Loved this book

It is a heart warming story of a strong family. Great author and performance.

Great narrator. Great story!

I love Jean Grainger stories. This 4 part Star and Shamrock series made me want to “read” all night. Her character development is wonderful and I loved making the journey with the characters through WWII in Ireland and Germany to 1956. The narrator was one of the best I’ve heard. Her ability to switch voices and dialects made me feel I was right there. I was able to get a clear idea of what ordinary people experienced throughout the war and the after effects, not just for the Jews during WWII, but also the citizens of both Ireland and Germany, and even a glimpse at life in the USA .

Touching and thought provoking

I really enjoyed the continued story of these special people. The message of getting along and accepting each other is a much needed message. I hope there will be another installment soon.

Well written. Very well researched. Exceptional narration. Never before have I enjoyed reading a series, so we’ll written as these.

A Wonderful Read

What a wonderful series. I thoroughly enjoyed the four books surrounding the lives of Lisel and Eric and everyone surrounding them. Ms. Grainger is brilliant in her ability to merge all the lives together, from one book to the next, yet keeping each book an outstanding stand alone creation of its own.
I highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a good story, rich in history, with well developed multi dimensional characters and a (l won’t give away the) ending.
Grab yourself four good reads and make a pot of tea or cocoa. You’ll be happy you did.

absolutely my new favorite listen in every way . a worthy 5 star performance. narration superb. the characters will stay with me for a while now. 3 credits well spent.

I enjoyed this series and the characters. It follows the lives of Germans and Jews in WWII to Ireland with enough twists and turns to keep it interesting. Leaves one with a warm glow.

Read all the books of the Star and Shamrock series. Everyone of them was very interesting to follow the children from child to adulthood.

Each book gets better

Which rarely happens in a series, but Jean Grainger develops the characters more fully. Snd Siobhan Waring does a marvelous job narrating. I hate the story to end… but there are more books in the series 😎

Excellent continuation of the series.

I’ve loved this series of books, and I’m rather sad that this feels like the end. Of course maybe it won’t be? I’m totally invested in the characters and their lives. Well written , researched and narrated.

WOW I have loved listening to this 4 book series, I really hope there is more BUT I know sometimes there is an end.
I felt every emotion throughout the series.
I don’t want to say too much as there is nothing worse than spoilers.
Thank you Jean loved every part and the person reading them has such a lovely voice it’s a joy to listen to her so thank you as well Siobhan.
Now to go listen to more of your series 😁
