Dee Henderson Never Disappoints

Dee Henderson still proves that she can write a great suspense novel and also show God's love, too. "The Witness" proves that. I will pick up and read anything that she writes anytime. I read her novels like many read John Grishom. Dee Henderson can pack a punch with the best of suspense authors and still show love and compassion. I hope to read more of her books for many years to come!

Awesome Book - difficult to listen to

The book is great ... the only problem is that it's difficult to listen to Lynn Brooks, the narrator - she pauses in really unusual places in her sentences - apparently commas and other punctuation mean nothing to her. It makes it very choppy. The book I give 5 stars, the narration only about 1 1/2.

Not Dee's Best

I love Dee Henderson, I have purchased all of her books except for two. This is not one of Dee best, both her O'Malloy and Uncommon Hero's series was excellent however this book was not very entertaining. It had slow plot development and it was just not good. In fact I did not even finish the book. Purchase at your own risk.

Great story, great reading

I love the story, it is a favorite. The reading added even more to it. The narrator does a good job distinguishing between different voices, and reads at just the right pace. There is even a different sound quality to voices coming over a phone or radio. Thoroughly enjoyed this audio book.

avid reader

There is nothing worse than getting yourself all hyped up for a great edgy mystery/murder novel, then have religion thrown in your face every other page. The Author wasn't interested in pulling the reader in by it's mystery of the plot, she seemed to want to teach me about LOVE & GOD. Thanks but er..... i won't ever be giving this author a second look again. I want my money back!!!!

Best one yet for Dee Henderson!

I've read all books of this author and I will have to say this is my favorite by far. From the narrator to the story line and characters it was so interesting and something I was sad to hear the end come. These were strong and morally strong characters with a well woven story. The police angle and how the officers meshed with the characters was very good as well.

I can only hope there will be from this author with these characters!

Not sure about the story...

because the narration was not the best. The disjointed phrasing was distracting and made it difficult to follow. I am usually a big fan of Dee Henderson and repeatedly re-listen to her books...I keep forgetting that this one is hers and I don't remember the story line. Giving the story 3 stars based on my fondness for her other books...

fun

Would you listen to The Witness again? Why?

I like Dee Henderson's books. I would definitely read The Witness again. I did find it to be a bit slower moving than her O'Malley Series however.

A well crafted romantic suspence...

... with as much suspence and police procedural as romance, though there are 3 romances for the price of one! It opens with a multiple homicide and wends through an Organised Crime Boss' vengence, a family mistery linked with serial murders and a contract killing, possibly.
The characters are, as usual, well drawn and the plot twisty. This has 5 stars as I have listened /read more than once - I like the people in this book and it's nice to visit them again.
The reading is well paced and the characterization appropriate; very listenable!
Trivia: Marie's painting of the trees with their slightly sinister shadows turns up in another of Henderson's stories. Just a bit part, though.
