Excellent! Dark Prophecy, faery princess, forbidden love and an Evil Queen

Having read the Withering palace I didn't think I could love it anymore. But Lillian Yves brings it all to a whole new level! I love this entire series but this is one of my favorites. A castle that talks to its princess, a loyal handmaiden that protects the princess from her evil mother the Queen. It is just a wonderful story that pulls you in from the very beginning and doesn't not let go. The ending sets up for the rest of the series, which trust me you will download everyone!

What an enchanting way to enjoy a new book!

I absolutely loved getting whisked away to a whole other realm while listening to this story as I busily typed at work. This story was full of adventure, turmoil, & angst as well as magic & mystery. I have read many of Purdy's books prior to this, but had not yet read The Withering Place. This was also my first audiobook of her work. Absolutely loved it!!! Now I need another to continue this journey while I finish my work day.

Faeries make terrible parents...

If you could sum up The Withering Palace in three words, what would they be?

Magical. Dark. Enticing.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Aveta, she's a young woman who's both compassionate and strong at the same time, though her behaviour does become a lot darker by the end and a lot less 'faery princess'.

Which scene was your favorite?

I really enjoyed the ending of this book when Aveta reclaims her kingdom (I can't give anything away!)

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely - and I did!

Any additional comments?

Fantastic narration for this book, I think it really added to the experience, being able to listen to all of the characters' voices being acted out. The evil queen was especially chilling!

I bought the next 0.5 and 1 so far Im not sure about what's the connection the names are similar and it's confusing but if the story could have continued from here I be so thrilled. However I'll keep listening 🎧 on and let you know if my feelings change but I loved this book here 💞;

Great Story

This is a prelude to the Dark Faerie Tale Series. It is about Evita and her battle to become the Queen of the Withering Palace. Well written and well narrated.

I was given a copy of this audiobook in return for my unbiased opinion.

Left me waiting more

I enjoyed this short prequel. It definitely made me want to listen to more. It was full of magic betrayal and young love lost. I hope the rest of the series lives up to this.

Romantic and heart wrenching

Getting in depth with the withering palace is fantastic. I loved this novella. It fleshes out the Ever series background even more. The story itself was heartbreaking though. Definitely can get into the story and feel the emotions. If you enjoy the series, this is a great addition.

Captivating Dark Faerie Tale

I loved this short story of the Unseelie princess Aveta and how she came to rule. It is a story that pulls at your heartstrings, has action, turmoil, determination, magic and loss. You can not help but feel for Aveta and what she had to endure as she grew up, as well as what she must do become to be queen. The narrator, Lillian Yves, did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life and making you feel all the different emotions contained in the story. If this well written tale is any indication of the rest of the series, then it is definitely going to be a must to listen to.

I enjoyed it!

This is a novella of the use and misuse of power, of magic, mystery, love and trust and where a young faerie, Aveta, must practice her skills and magic and fight to survive until she can become queen.
It is not the usual type of story that I read or listen but surprise, surprise - I enjoyed it!
I listened to the audio version which is narrated by Lillian Yves who brought this story to life for me and I am quite happy to recommend it.
