Publisher's Summary

The sequel to one of the best loved fantasy epics of all time, the inspiration for Christopher Paolini and George R. R. Martin.

The Witchwood Crown continues the story of Simon, servant boy made king, and his queen, Miriamele, 30 years after the events of the concluding part of the Memory, Sorrow and Thorn trilogy. In To Green Angel Tower, the might of the Storm King was conquered by the League of the Scroll. Now new troubles have come to the kingdom of Osten Ard, a world where humans, Norns and the Sithi can live in peace for only a little time before war raises its head....

Eclipses MS&T

As much as I love the original series, I found this book to be so much more. I high recommend to old fans, new fans and general fantasy fans. Excellent.

A long awaited continuation of the Dragonbone Chair trilogy.

This has a slow beginning as we reacquaint ourselves with the characters but is an engrossing story, leaving me anxious to continue the tale. Well narrated.

Good but slow to get going

I enjoyed this eventually, but nearly sent it back early on. I have listened to and enjoyed many audiobooks by Tad Williams, this isn’t quite as good as I’d hoped.

great story - shame about the narration

Loved the original series and am thoroughly enjoying this so far apart from the terrible Norn/Qanuk voices - they're seriously annoying and in places hard to make out what the characters are actually saying. Mind you I wasn't keen on the narration on the MST original trilogy either and this is the same bloke so it's my own fault. Cool story tho - looks like it's building up to be a real good 'un!

Perfectly read, with so many voices!

So many characters are brought to life here, with accents and mannerisms that leave you in doubt as to who is speaking.
A masterful performance.

Outstanding!

Remeeting familiar friends and discovering new ones, this novel is rich and complex, with many deftly crafted characters at its heart. The final pages were full of twists and turns, and I can’t wait for the next instalment!

I was there watching in my minds eye

I actually felt I was there looking down on every part of this glorious book . Well written well read . I have bought the next book and will start listening as soon as I have finished this review .
It takes me a while to find a series of books I want to keep listening to but from the very first book to this I have loved every second and have been given funny looks when I cry out on the train or amongst work colleagues ha ha .. a must read and as soon as my granddaughter is old enough I shall let her listen to all of them ..

Can't wait for the next one - absolutely excellent

Wow, what a book! I really enjoyed the original series of Memory, Sorry and Thorn, but this is even better. Much better actually. In the years since writing the original (1988?) he has become a much better writer. The story is more complex and engaging: every chapter is excellent and has great twists and turns. His characters are more detailed and believable. Two of them this time are a comedy double act and the humour is great - he has learned to write comedy since 1988. I laughed out loud at several points. And Andrew Wincott does superb character acting, not missing a single nuance of a sentence - he is really plugged in.

I am counting the days until the next one as this, in my opinion, has been set up with this book as one of the best fantasy saga's of all time, topping just about everything else I have read. And this book in itself is just a joy from start to finish. I wish I could contact the author and reader to say "Superb work guys! Superb." If you like fantasy then you can't go without this in your collection in my opinion.

Wonderful

Wonderful story. Powerful narration. I cannot wait for the next book in the sequel. Time to listen to the initial trilogy again.
