Publisher's summary

Chicago's top undercover cop, Cal Black, has faced his share of danger, but he's never tangled with the paranormal…until now. His mission is simple: to investigate the disappearance of a sorority girl from a private college. But there are two complications: the girl's a witch. And her sister is the enchantress who broke his heart.

Deme Chattox isn't looking for a man. Especially a bad boy like Cal, even though every inch of her body remembers the magic of his touch. What she is looking for is her little sister… and Deme is determined to find her without Cal's expertise. The other Chattox sisters - and their mystical powers - are all the help she needs. That is, until they unearth a terrifying secret buried deep underground - and Deme finds herself possessed by a desire that threatens to destroy her.

Magic and Love

I love Deme and Cal. The characters stood apart as both individuals and partners. I loved the strength Deme showed, for herself and her sisters. Cal was understanding, but still asked questions and didnt just go with the flow which gave the story some normalcy. This particular adventure thede two had to face brought them together in the nedt way, I cant wait to see what happens next.

The bad ass Chart of sisters

Aurai, the youngest Chattox sister, has vanished during a sorority initiation held by the Gamma Omegas at a small Chicago college. Her sister, Deme has returned to help find her. She has to work with Cal Black, an undercover officer and her former lover. Their sexual attraction is as hot as ever but their unresolved issues cause problems. Deme and her sisters have a secret. They are witches. To rescue Aurai, everyone needs to work together. The chimera, a dark and powerful monster, is waiting to kill anyone who challenges him. I loved this story. It is filled with mystery, danger and very hot sex. Will evil triumph? Will there be a HEA? You need to read The Witch's Initiation to find out.

So much potential – so wasted

I read the synopsis and was so excited. The story is great but the execution and development of characters that is lacking. I loved the concept of these five sister witches and getting to know each of the powers. The author tried but so much time was spent on the romance between Deme and Cal that the other sisters got lost. Yes, I know it’s a romance but some of the romance seemed to just overwhelm the book.

The adversary in this book is also way to powerful and large. It seemed very early on that the sisters could not defeat this foe. So the author in true typical fashion wraps it up really quickly, clean and completely unrealistic.

I debated giving this book three stars, but I realized that I called the heroine a “dumbass” out loud in my car way too many times to give this book another star. The narrator was good, and I had no issues with the narration.
