Publisher's summary

Tempest Michaels is back! His office burned down, his love life is a joke, and he is convinced he is getting fat. It's the perfect time for a new case, then.

The client is the son of a man who was killed in freak accident - struck by lightning. That doesn't sound very paranormal until you learn that he was inside his house when it happened and his heart exploded out of his chest.

There are eldritch runes drawn on the victim’s house and his wife, together with several of her friends, has been seen colluding with a mysterious old crone. Is there witchcraft being practiced in the nearby village of East Malling? The client certainly thinks so.

Will he be swift enough to solve the case before anyone else is killed? Will Frank’s witch-sniffer toad sniff out the witch? Will Tempest’s assistant turn up dressed as a boy or a girl?

You can bet there will be bedlam as Tempest and his trusted sausage dogs find themselves pitted against another potentially deadly foe.

Excellent Bool

Very well written & entertaining story. If you think paranormal activities are all humbug - read these books. The dachshunds are a big bonus.

strange self-help dialog in chapters 3 & 4

strange self-help dialog in chapters 3 and 4. At first I thought that it was part of the story but it definitely was not.

Chapter 3 and 4

Overall I love this series. I have the kindle versions and all that are available on audible.
This particular book though lol chapters 3 and 4 Dead Dad and Crossfit, seem to have been replaced with a couple of self help chapters from another book. Tempest does have a tendency to veer in his story telling which is all well and good and these 2 particular chapters are very short don’t seem to be super pertinent to finishing the story but it does completely remove you from the story when you start wondering when it’s going to get back to the story.
If I knew how to contact someone that could fix it I would.

These books are great :)

I felt like this one was a smidge darker (though still cozy) than the others so far, but I didn't mind. The mystery was good!

It gets hard to find new things to say (without giving anything away) when book after book is a hit. lol Suffice to say, I'm definitely moving forward!

His Patricia Fisher Cruise series is also excellent.

A well-written story from a good author

The Witches of East Malling (Blue Moon Investigations #6), my seventh read/listen from author Steve and my second in this series. Well written & enjoyable. Narrator Charles Robert Fox’s voice added to the listening enjoyment. I'm going to have to go backward & catch up as I'm reading books out of order because it's what I have. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

The Witches of East Malling

Tempest is back and trying to get a handle on not only his love life but his weight! His ribs are better but he is still working out of his office until he finds the perfect spot for a new office, Now he and his fellow workers and friends are moving into the new space. Then he gets a case where a man was hit by lightning in his own home. Now Tempest is on the move to find the real truth behind the witch who is causing the mayhem. Along the way poor Big Ben is caught up in his own drama as well as Hilary. Amanda may be getting what she has wanted for a while and Patience is along to help the ride get bumpy or even out, with her you never know!!
Charles Robert Fox is a fabulous narrator who gives each character their own quirks and life.
Fantastic audio and story!!

Not my cup of tea.

It's probably a great audio, but not for me. I prefer his Amanda Harper stories and audios.

I was given this audiobook by the author for free and have voluntarily left this review.
