Publisher's summary

In 1972, digital watches were born, HBO came to a TV near you, everyone wanted a VW Bug, and the Watergate scandal dominated the news. Steely Dan, Deep Purple, Elton John, and Rod Stewart had commandeered the air waves. While the rest of the world was grooving on mini-skirts, bellbottoms, PONG, and Ziggy Stardust, there was a quiet little community in Connecticut where a men’s association had their own ideas about progress. They had one foot inside the door of the digital age, yet they weren’t about to let their wives come with them. They kept them firmly planted in the mid-century, when women cooked, cleaned, and minded the babies. But how could they keep them there with technological advancement progressing all around them? Easy... Murder. The replacement wives were perfectly executed androids. Good things don’t always last, though. Except androids. Humans die. Robots don’t. It’s 2015. What became of the twenty beautiful, shapely, sex droids that happen to be experts in home economics and child rearing? How did they circumvent the directive that told them to go to the men’s club to be deactivated? What made them run? And what about the unfortunate, chauvinistic men that now happen upon them that threaten their existence? It seems, perhaps, that the tables have turned in the twenty-first century digital age. Payback, they say, can be a bitch.
