Acerca de esta escucha

From Cara Hunter, the New York Times bestselling author of Murder in the Family, comes the fifth novel in her DI Fawley detective series, one of Britain’s most enduringly popular and mega-selling crime series.

When DI Adam Fawley is assigned a sexual assault case filed by an Oxford student against a tenured professor, he expects the facts to match up with the far too many previous reports he’s investigated time and again. But neither he nor anyone on his team imagined the victim would turn out to be a male rugby player accusing one of the university’s most respected female professors.

As the detectives try to unravel the truth behind the he said/she said crime, another threat arises—someone with a personal grudge against Fawley. . .

Well told story….Leaves you wanting more. The story wraps up but still leaves a few loose threads, just enough for you to want the next book. I really enjoy this series, great narration and I especially like how the characters unfold with each installment.

It's a pretty good story but the sub-plot about Det Fawley and his wife is really annoying. It started in the prior book (#4) and continues in this one, only gets worse. They make a really big deal about their son committing suicide in the past, and how much they want another baby. A lot of talk about "what's best for the baby" and the wife Alex seems to overreact to everything. The other part of the subplot relates to evidence that helped convict a man who assaulted her. And she is supposed to be an attorney. I didn't like her and had no respect for her. I wish they'd just left that subplot completely out of the book. I actually fast forwarded through some of the scenes involving Fawley and his wimpy wife.

Dkslike the subplot about Det Fawley & wife
