Intriguing but.....

What did you like best about The Welcoming? What did you like least?

Good story line but very predictable...man meets woman....man dislikes woman.....woman need favor...man loves woman....woman tricks man....you get the idea.

Would you recommend The Welcoming to your friends? Why or why not?

Not so much

What about Christian Rummel’s performance did you like?

Good tone and feeling in his voice. Good accent for Irish character.

Was The Welcoming worth the listening time?

Passed the time while I was doing mor mundane things.

Laugh-out-loud funny. What? No, it's not a comedy

I like some Nora Roberts books, but not this one. It almost seems heavily abridged- there is so little to the plotline and events, and so little sense of time passing, that the dialogue and feelings and character interactions don't make any sense. Plus the writing is thin and very cliched. Even if you like Nora Roberts, skip this one.

Great Story

This was an incredibly good book, even though it's one of her early books. I highly recommend this book, although I would recommend perhaps reading it as opposed to listening to this version. For the most part the narration is really good, except for the part of Charity. It is read in a way that makes it harder to get into her character. Even with all that if this is the only way you could have access to this book I still highly recommend it.

Really glad I heard this for free.

I'm glad I heard this with my trial of the romance or "escape" package, because I would have been pissed had I wasted a credit on this. Of the three Nora Roberts audio books I've heard thus far, this was definitely my least favorite.
I'm sorry, but I don't buy someone falling in love with some stranger who just moved in a few days ago, with almost every interaction ending in an argument.
I was often bored, annoyed at the couple's power imbalance at times, and there were moments I was cringing so hard that I had to stop the book and laugh to release the embarrassment I felt listening to the cheesy lines and passages.
A pass for me. Her newer books are much better.
I could go on about every little detail of the story that displeased me, but one man's trash is another man's treasure. And what may be garbage to me might be the pinnacle of sexy late 80's harlequin novels to you. Go forth and read what you want.

Didn't like this one

Usually a fan of her books, but didn't like this one at all. Returned halfway through. Don't waste your time on this one.

The Welcoming

Enjoyable read, but typical Roberts. having said that, she still gets you caught up in the rich characters she congers up for each of her reads.
