Publisher's summary

Cara Connelly's second Save the Date novel proves that opposites do attract….

The playboy...

Sexy billionaire Adam LeCroix has a mission: hunt down the sultry spitfire he blames for his troubles, demand her help, and exact revenge while he's at it. Maddie St. Clair will help him - or else.

The prosecutor...

Former prosecutor Maddie damn near nailed Adam for stealing, but the lucky bastard walked. Now, five years later, he's back, arrogant as ever, giving her an ultimatum - work for him to collect the insurance money, or she'll never work again.

The problem...

Maddie's all about right and wrong. Adam's shades of gray. So when he uncovers the hot body under her hard-ass veneer and she finds he's a thief with a heart, can the law-and-order lawyer and the fast-and-loose felon put their prickly past behind them?

RICHLY DESCRIBED COMPLEX CHARACTERS FIND TRUE LOVE

Adam, the handsome arrogant Billionaire, thinks he has everything and what he hasn't got he can just buy and he's just paid a lot of money for the services of the Prosecutor who nearly put him away for theft 5 years earlier. The pocket sized Lawyer Maddie is very confident and good at her job but when it comes to her personal life then that's a totally different story.

Both have been moulded by childhood Demons and there's secrets big and small and whilst Adam is manipulating Maddie their sizzling attraction grows into much more but Maddie is a tough nut to crack when it comes to doing relationships. Adam doesn't want to give up on her and tries everything but, just as things are finally looking up, Maddie unfortunately walks in on a shocking secret.

This was another very enjoyable listen that had angst, humor, snappy banter, interesting secondary characters, secrets, surprises, a stray 'John Doe' dog, lust which is quickly acted on, sex, a nice slow to develop romance between two damaged hearts and the healing power of love.

Worth a credit? A smoothly written very entertaining Contemporary romance about a Playboy/Thief whose eventual character growth redeemed him thanks to a feisty Lawyer who, in turn, eventually exorcised the Demons from her past thanks to the love and support of a reformed Thief. Could be a stand-alone listen but it does refer to the couple from the previous book and the narration was good. So, YES, IMO, a credit well used.

Sharp Wit and Fast Dialogue

What did you love best about The Wedding Vow?

I just started listening to this book and can tell it is a winner, dialogue is fast and story is moving quickly. Our hero has already melted my heart when he rescues John Doe dog.
Our heroine has a range of emotions and a sharp tongue for which she puts to good use, reader Karen White's best reading feature,.

What other book might you compare The Wedding Vow to and why?

Judith McNaught's Every Breath You Take. Same arrogant type hero/personality. I have listened to J.McN book at least 3 times, it is that good. All of Ms McNaught's books are classics!

What does Karen White bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I purchased this book as Karen White is one of my top readers and this book was a new release for her. See her Julie James series and Jill Shalvis animal series. Karen's male voice and her ability to bring out the wit of an author is her top feature. Listen to Julie James samples to see if you like K.W. Check out Rebecca Zanetti's series too. Karen knocks that out of the park.

Any additional comments?

I have not purchased book #1 as the reader sounds like Kathleen Early and #1 is the only book reader lists. If this author/story turns out to be terrific, then I will buy it. Author/Audible, please have Karen White read the next installment if there is one.
