Publisher's summary

2020 Readers' Favorite Award's Gold Medal winner in self-help.

Discover the original, instinctive, nonreligious form of meditation that has been lost to the world. Richard L. Haight, award-winning author of The Unbound Soul and master of four samurai arts, shares the best-kept secret in self-improvement, cognitive development, and stress relief, which he calls the "warrior's meditation".

For people of all backgrounds, genders, and ages.

To get a picture of the "warrior’s meditation", imagine a battlefield scenario with a single samurai standing, surrounded by multiple opponents. A novice’s attention would jump from opponent to opponent in an anxious attempt to defend himself. Such a strategy soon tires the warrior, who will be defeated. An expert warrior will spread his attention evenly in all directions but still experience anxiety as he mentally plans his strategy. His thoughts and anxiety may be his downfall if his opponents are truly skilled. A master’s attention, like the expert’s, is spread evenly, but he remains as calm as the surface of a still lake. With no predetermined idea of what his actions might be, his body takes the right action without a single thought.

You may wonder how the samurai’s experience bears any resemblance to your modern life. After all, no armies or assassins seem to be trying to attack you or your town. In one way, we modern people are not so different from the samurai. With our busy lives, we don’t have time to spend hours a day in meditation. Instead, we need a meditation that allows our actions in a high-pressure, fast-paced world to flow from a depth of awareness. The Warrior’s Meditation helps you access and express from that depth naturally.

Open your eyes to incredible, new depths of awareness that help to bring out your greatest inner qualities - begin listening to The Warrior's Meditation today!

An Enlighting Reading

To me, it takes time to get accustomed to the author"s points and vision until the latter part of the book where his ideas and practice begins to make sense. There is quite a lot of good information that helps not just the readers that practice martial arts, but also those individuals that do not with meditation that can help in all aspects of life. As an on/off martial arts practitioner, I feel that I gained a better understanding between the physical and mental aspects in a fight or flight situation.

New Awareness taught here

The book is informative and mind opening. The practice of the warriors meditation is likely the best mindfulness meditations I have experienced. The book outlines the philosophy and shares ideas and tips for enriching your life in a broad way through some simple practices and recommendations. It is philosophical in nature, and not so much a "story" as a shared philosophy with exercises to help practice. The practices required no moral or spiritual adherence to any classic religious or philosophical set belief, and I found this to be a relief. This book espouses and is one of those deceptively simple practices that can change your life and focus for the better. But it is KEY to practice and do the exercises in the book to benefit and Richard offers.

And beyond the book I do recommend Richard L. Haright's website with more info. and particularly recommend The type of awareness and open eye open senses focused meditation that is practiced daily by Richard onlinem. This daily online practice maybe joined for a reasonable price and makes it easier to actually "practice" the books ideas with more guidance and assistance from Richard.

The Warrior's Meditation

If you are interested in the science behind meditating then this book offers a very well researched account of what is going on in the brain while you meditate. Meditation is different for everyone and I found this book useful as I have often struggled to meditate and let go, I found Richard Haight's strategies very useful and his explanations excellent. It is nice that the author has recorded the audio as well.

the Natural Way

Although based on meditation principles, do not shy away - this is the most natural, intuitive and authentic teaching on everyday living in conscious awareness. Not only does it provide the reader with the thorough knowledge on the subconscious mechanisms governing our daily choices but simultaneously offers easy, applicable tools for adjustments and corrections leading us directly to effortless experience of the wholeness of life. To put it bluntly and straightforwardly: it is the essence of ancient wisdom distilled into practicality, no matter your origin, race, creed, social status or professional career.
Due to its availability and applicability, the practice is totally liberating and empowering allowing the reader / practicioner the infinite space for constant expansion and exploration into authentic, free, natural, inspiring being (the pun intended).
Brilliant!
