Fine enough

While the story and characters were fine and the world itself in an interesting state.

It all to me feels pointless. The world seems on the verge of dying, where no one man should be able to fix it without duex ex.
The MC seems asexual and no interest in having kids meaning his future lineage is ending.
Then there is the progression, no matter how the mage increases in power to the peak the life span doesnt, no immortals. Meaning no matter if he says at 3 level or gets to 10. He will still die in 80 years, a short human life span.
Seems pointless.
Personally I far prefer progession system that high mana levels means longer life and more time to grow strong. Give far more purpose to it and time to get good at it.

Hidden gem, well worth the credit

Hadn't hear anything about this and was on the fence, but very glad I purchased. Story exceeded expectations and narration was great.

This is definitely an OP MC story, which I like, but he's far from perfect and still has much to learn. The other review mentioned the pacing, it is very fast paced but I loved that aspect. The events of this book could have easily been 3 mediocre books, stretched out until I got bored and forgot the series... not here. The author will actually have the chance to explore all the aspects of this world with the fast pacing. Looking forward to learning more of the empire, dungeon, politics, other continents, etc. I also like the PoV chapters, they're helpful for exploring the world from the perspective of more average inhabitants.

Only have 2 criticisms - The first is that the opening time loop aspect (very similar to Menocht Loop) is underutilized. It only lasts a bit over a year and he doesn't come out with any highly honed skills or useful world information. It's really just a means to rapidly mature a spoiled kid. Some readers might like this more limited approach, i just think it left a lot of interesting possibilities on the table.

The 2nd issue is one I hope improves over time... the power systems are VERY poorly explained and mostly just comes off as hand wavy plot devices. There's some detail given for the magic system, but it's pretty vague. What are Matrices in this context? How do some mages control more of them? Where does the power come from? Is there a mana pool? What exactly does having a talent for magic mean? How common are mages? Just shocking little detail on this for an MC who basically wants to be a migic researcher. Life enforcement is completely unexplained. Some people have a "talent" for it and it will make them stronger and faster. Also it can cut through magic. How? No idea. This just really stood out as lazy in what is otherwise a great lighter fantasy story.

I will be getting the next one and look forward to where the story is headed.

Surprisingly fast pace, but enjoyable story

I was surprised by how fast the author paced the story, but overall the story was enjoyable.

I am curious what the overall narrative goal is, but that will likely be more firmly established in book 2.

I do recommend people give it a try.as the writing, characters, and story were solid.

The narration was solid as well.
