I liked the story especially as it intersects with the other books in series. Appreciated the intro . I did not enjoy around 14 chapters of Joss pretend innocence and concern for Callum and his weak resistance from the beginning. Too much l can’t because I love you and respect you and I have my vows but will cave in repeatedly and put myself in awkward situations over and over.It was immediately obvious within the first chapters that they would get together without difficulty. Their behavior in middle of war was unrealistic. Callum too often neglected his leadership role disappearing with Joss without note or consequences. Ok she could sing but that didn’t justify her accompanying the Leader on casualty visits, I mean she doesn’t belong to the clan at that point. The y have surveillance but no report or notice that she fought . The drug matter was important but treated as afterthought.

Great story
Amazing narration! First, make sure you read the other books in order. This is not a standalone. The War Priest is my favorite of the series since the first, and I enjoyed every minute!
