Changed review

The format has recently changed and is no longer an up to date report which is what I liked. Now there are stories that I have already read or heard from other sources. The tech section is missing and I liked it very much. The only positive good change is the narrator isn't stating his name over and over. I am considering dropping the WSJ as no longer relevant for me.

Gone downhill. Looks like they're phasing out

I'm really disappointed with the direction these have taken. They went from 50 minutes a day (6 days a week) to 30 minutes a day (5 days a week). The removal of the Weekend Journal was a real blow. I paid for this subscription with audible credits (I used my free subscription for the NYT), and am now getting half the value.

It doesn't look like the 12-month subscription is available to purchase anymore, so I'm guessing they're phasing it out with a half-assed version for those of us still subscribed.

Monodrone narrator especially compared to NYT narr

Would you try another book from the author and/or the narrator?

No!

What didn’t you like about the narrator’s performance?

He has no intonation, does not sound at all alive or interested in the material or conversational

Was The Morning Read from The Wall Street Journal worth the listening time?

If it wasn't the only way I could absorb the WSJ I would bail out.

Any additional comments?

IT can't be that hard to hire a new narrator

Disappointed in decrease of content

I am disappointed that the morning read content has been cut from 10 articles to 5. The morning read presented the primary value for me as a digital subscriber; now I'm reconsidering whether it is worth it to keep the subscription.

Serious Problem for Android Users

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

It could work on my android phone like it did before the latest update.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Can't say since the latest update prevents me from downloading and listening to the Wall Street Journal on my phone. Spent nearly an hour with a very helpful customer service rep. While several steps were taken to fix the problem, none worked. When I checked the web site I found the option to download to android phones no longer exists and can only download to Kindle devices. I use my phone to listen to audible content so losing this on my phone makes access to the wall street journal worthless and substantially reduces the value of my Audible account. From my perspective, if Audible/Amazon is no longer going to allow WSJ to be available on Android phone, they should reduce the subscription cost.

Any additional comments?

See above. Very disappointed that that the latest update does not allow WSJ to played on android devices running audible.

I love having the WSJ read to me!

What a delight! These stories are longer than traditional radio or news shows. This allows me to catch up on the major stories while I am driving or standing in line etc. I actually learn better hearing versus reading...where my eye is jumping around. What a great idea! thanks.

Great buy

The morning read of the WSJ is pretty great. Usually listen to it on the way to work. My one complaint is that this is the US version and hence I don't get it until the afternoon here in the UK. Overall, a great purchase though. It's a nice way to save some time at work while also filling your time when commuting or walking to work.
