Publisher's summary

I made a vow...and he won't let me escape it.

Riggs is possessive and cruel, twisted beyond all measure. I knew it yet still trusted and loved him.

Then he betrayed me.

I can’t forgive what he did. So I try to break what’s between us...to exit his dark world without a second thought.

Yet the lonely nights torture me, reminding me what it felt like to be his, proving he’s right. Once you’re in his world, there’s no getting out. It becomes ingrained into your soul.

And Riggs’ obsession with winning me back doesn’t help. Nor does my weakness to visit the club.

Each of our encounters hurt more, leaving unanswered questions.

How can he love me and do what he did?

Why do I keep returning to his arms?

It’s a cycle I’m terrified will never end—part of me doesn’t want it to.

The Vow is the second and final book of the Club Indulgence Duet. It’s a second-chance age-gap forbidden-love dark billionaire romance.

The Vow

This is the continuation of The Auction and I enjoyed it just as much. Unfortunately, Riggs is still a real @ss. I felt the Club Indulgence series dragged on and I did not like it as much as some of Ms Cole's other books/series. Connor Crais and Ava Lucas did a great job with the narration

Disappointed

I will say that the narration was on point. Connor Crais was Riggs from start to finish and Ava Lucas made you feel exactly what Blakely as going through. I absolutely loved the first book the Auction but this one seemed to drag out with the same topic over and over again, Blakely whining about Riggs betrayal and how she can't get over it. I struggled with her character throughout this book. The first book grabbed me and pulled me in and this one just left me wanting something more. I did love the how the book ended and showed the lengths Riggs would go to for Blakely. I didn't hate the book, but I didn't' devour it like the first one. When you marry a man like Riggs you know what you're getting, and he will never change. At some point you need to accept that. Blakely had me struggling until the end. I did enjoy the epilogue it was so them and it was perfect.

Skip it …..seriously

I felt invested to finish this series so I used a credit. I feel like Audible owes me 5 back ! Holy crap, the first 5 chapters are repetitive annoyance, made me want to scream, and I did. I really can’t stand Maggie ….erm, Blakey. This was one of the most painful books (not listens, ‘cause Connor CRAIS) ….FF to chapter 26-ish ….all I can say is, I’m glad I got thru it, cause I’m no quitter. Personally, I will never purchase another Maggie Cole book again . NOPE NOPE NOPE ….

Rich People Problems.

This is another story with a good setup and interesting characters that turns into the same old cheesy faux-angsty silliness.

And what the couple bickers over are things I'll never experience in my life.

Seriously. They're fighting because she wants to stay at this mansion instead of the other one? REALLY? She doesn't want her father's billions of dollars? OMG. These people are a notch up from The Kardashians. Barely.

The writer uses the same phrases over and over, sometimes in the same sentence. They should both see a doctor, since their “heart stops” every time someone else speaks. The characters' eyes "turned to slits" every few paragraphs. I counted seven occurrences of "my lungs filled with stale air" before I stopped counting. What does that even mean???

What it means is that Maggie Cole leaned on repetitive catch-all phrases instead of fleshing out more details about how the characters were feeling, appearing, etc.

Story-wise, this is basically a silly game of emotional cat-and-mouse. Man hurts woman, and then is surprised that she’s offended. Woman gets the upper hand and spends the entire second book acting like a 5 year old.

And spoiler alert! They're all rich. (Also, it's HILARIOUS that Maggie Cole decided to put this main character in Compton. I literally laughed, teary-eyed, for that whole chapter. Then called my GF and replayed it and we snort-laughed even more. You should actually visit a place instead of Googling it if you're going to use it as a real-life location in your stories.)

The woman keeps behaving like a child (not in a cute way), but HEY! She's beautiful, so, as usual in these stories, the rich man overlooks all of her disrespect.

Speaking of appearance, Maggie Cole's description of the LFC in no way matches the book's cover art.

Fans of Jacob Morgan or Christian Fox or Brian Pallino or whatever name he’s going by today will rejoice at the discovery that this narrator is him, too. I’ve stopped trying to chase him down since he apparently doesn’t want a fan base, but I’m sure some of you will want to know it.

If alpha/mafia/taken-ish stories are your thing, I recommend The Moretti Crime Family saga. It's similar in plot, but a better read for your buck.

disappointed

I loved the first part to this duet but this was a big disappointment. The whole thing was about them fighting and I started to hate Blakely. she gave me whiplash with her thoughts in the worst way. I almost didn't finish but I made it through and hate I wasted time on this book.

Fantastic end to Riggs and Blakely's story

The Vow quickly picks up from The Auction (Book 1)  with Blakely trying to come to terms with Riggs' betrayal. It's a lot to get her head around, something that is not helped by Riggs' obsession to win her back, nor by his over-protective nature.  They both struggle to come to terms with their emotions and their need to dominate and submit - I loved how, no matter what Blakely was going through, she always insisted on wearing her collar. This hot couple really just needed to sit down and talk to each other instead, they have a long push and pull emotional ride to get to where they deserve to be.  Along the way, a new friendship is made (Colton needs his own book!) and gut feelings prove to be correct but the ending - there was no way that I could have predicted that, absolutely loved it! Another visit to Club Indulgence was the icing on the cake! Maggie Cole does it again - totally recommend.

If you like a forbidden, age gap, second chance, BDSM romance then this duet is for you.  Riggs' character was brought to life by the ever talented Connor Crais and complemented perfectly by Ava Lucas.

Forbidden Love Age-Gap Billionaire Romance

The Vow by Maggie Cole is a forbidden love age-gap billionaire romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Connor Crais and Ava Lucas. This is the second book in the Club Indulgence Duet.

I absolutely love Maggie's books! She does an amazing job pulling me into the story. I loved the chemistry between Riggs and Blakely. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

Connor and Ava did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like billionaire romances, dark romances, age-gap romances, forbidden romances, or forced proximity romances.

Perfection...

I was hoping to have an awesome end to this duet but it surpassed my expectations. What a story, what a ride. There is so much passion, suspense, romance, heat , desire, love and everything in one. This could not have been better. Thank you Maggie Cole for this. What a team and omg, the perfect narration, I guess I fell in love with this dual performance of my fav narrators even more now. The story, the narrators, everything was excellent! Loved it.

Get ready for the wild ride!

WOW. That's all I can say! This duet is everything I love about Maggie Cole. She knows how to write a dark romance, with hints of warmth and love, bits of fear, strong women and protective men! I could not stop listening to this second book in the Club Indulgence Duet. Picking up right where she left off in book one, the swoony Riggs has done what he set out to do, but Blakely cannot forgive him. Now wondering if he really ever loved her, the doubts are winning, the trust is broken and she is dying a little inside. She is having problems ignoring the persistent dom and her need to be with him. Riggs loves Blakely, and now is on a mission to get her back. Make her understand. Cole weaves her web, pulling me in and then waiting to pounce on my heart. Riggs is the ultimate swoony hero. Blakely is stubborn, yet submissive, and the mix for her and Riggs is perfection. Then Cole goes and gives us just enough angst and twists to keep the suspense high and completely surprising! I was hooked on every word and loved every minute.

Of course the narration team of Ava Lucas and Connor Crais just makes this better. Lucas is phenomenal, pulling out emotions that left me feeling everything. Dominant, yet desperate, Crais brings out all the stops as Riggs. Understanding everything Riggs was going through as it happened, Crais's portrayal is riveting and intense. I love this team every time I hear them together, and can't wait for more!

infuriating story doesn't move along

I love your story's, however I found this one infuriating. When the two main characters refuse to move on and I'm half way into the book, I'm almost ready to put it away.

Not as enjoyable as Part 1

I really enjoyed the first book in this duet however this one fell flat for me.

To me, an alpha Dom is someone who takes charge and gets things done with minimal fuss. Riggs however appears to be anything but - he just runs around blustering threats and coming across as a weak, ineffectual thug.

Blakely also becomes a little ridiculous with several nonsensical semces that quickly become drawn out and annoying.

Overall the series is okay but the first book is definitely better than the second.
