Publisher's summary

Collin Evans, the Earl of Frossly is forced to return to his ancestral estate after years of avoiding the responsibility. His estate manager quit and it’s up to him to ensure his servants and tenants don’t suffer from his neglect. He never expected to find a beguiling woman that tempts him beyond reason nearby.

After a scandal erupts, Lady Charlotte Rossington is sent to the country to stay with a spinster aunt. What her father fails to realize is that was her goal all along. She hates London society and wants to write a novel and the season would prevent that endeavor.

While there she crosses paths with the Earl of Frossly. He’s handsome as sin and one of the wickedest rogues she’s ever encountered. She’s drawn to him and ends up in his arms more often than at her writing desk. Giving up on her dream is the last thing she wants, but she might have to choose between it and the one man she can’t live without.

Another Great Addition to the Series

The character work and story line were well written and kept me attention from beginning to end.

The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing the story to life and I look forward to the next collaboration between author and narrator.

hoyden heroine

After a scandal Lady Charlotte was punished to stay in the country with her aunt. She officially met Earl Collins. The two became close and had developed feelings for each other.
Enjoyed this story. A different heroine who resorted to tactics she didn't think through. I do admire her resolution and reasoning but the same tactics captured the interest of her future.
This a short enticing read from the author. Recommend reading this story, a link to the series.

Watching the Swans

Charlotte thought if she did something scandalous, not too scandalous, her parents would send her back home to their estate. Once there, she hopes to write a novel. Instead, they send her to stay with a great-aunt. While there, she meets the Collin Evans, Earl of Frossly. She and Collin are drawn together, and eventually fall in love, even though they don’t tell each other right away. Collins has his hands full with repairs to his estate. Charlotte is experiencing writer’s block. A lovely romance with an intelligent and thoughtful hero and heroine. Nice narration by Amanda S. Brown.

Bold Action Has Unexpected Results

In this story, the heroine takes a very bold, highly frowned upon by society action in hopes that it will force her parents into sending her to their country estate, where she hopes to focus on writing a novel. But she's gravely miscalculated, and her parents decide to let her rusticate with an old aunt. She's displeased by this, but of course, it ends up being just the right thing. On her way to her aunt's cottage, she gets into a carriage accident, and the hero comes to her rescue. He had witnessed her bold action and was curious about her and the reason behind her bold display. Throughout the bulk of the story, they get to know each other, and she, perhaps, gets to know herself a little better. His estate is in great disrepair, so much is weighing on his mind. Their interactions brighten his days. I won't go into further plot details, but I enjoyed watching this romance unfold. The hero and heroine are generous, loyal, and thoughtful people to their very cores, and I always enjoy a romance between two apparently deserving people. Recommended.

This was a short, but very entertaining enjoyable story. I loved the heroines initiative and forwardness for that day and time. It worked and she caught the eye of her future spouse. It kept my interest. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job.

Charlotte and Collin

Charlotte is a daughter of the ton, and her season is upon her. This means the marriage mart. Charlotte wants nothing to do with that, and convinces her father to send her to the country. (Calculated misbehavior to get what she wanted.) There she meets Collin, and soon realizes something is missing in her life. The story is a novella. It is entertaining, and well written. The characters have their own unique personalities. The narration was well done. I received a free copy of this audiobook from BookSprout and am voluntarily leaving my review.
