the violent land
the author brought to life a German community came West and settled in Wyoming they're a little story of getting there and the hardships of violent frontier. at the end they prevailed after many members of the group had passed because of the violence of bad people.

Better for the most.part
This one was better than a lot of the others but I wish these ghost writers would do their research. You could not swing out the cylinder of a colt 44 to reload it. It used a loading gate, just basic knowledge folks. Also, these same writers apparently never read any of the Preacher books. I wish J Rodney Turner narrated these, I cannot enjoy Preacher with this narrator

An unusual western story
This story takes the reader from disgust for some of the characters and pity for others to an exciting climax that almost ends. Enjoy!

Another Johnstone success!
Would you listen to The Violent Land again? Why?
Yes. A nice read. I have enjoyed all of the Johnstone books, particularly the Last of the Gunfighter series.

Another great western
George performance is outstanding as usual. He takes a good story and makes it great. The Jenson series is one of my favorites.

We always enjoy the Jensen family books. Smoke, Preacher, and Matt Jensen are always entertaining.

preacher
the voice of preacher was horrible. made him sound like a cross between Festus and slim Pickens. preacher is supposed to be the most aloof, dangerous and deadly mountain man ever and in the story he sounded like an old Crack pot. disappointed overall.
