Publisher's summary

A driven television personality makes an earth-shattering discovery. Is it Bigfoot? Aliens? Pity she can’t remember....

TV star Lauren Grayson approaches urban myths with a scientific eye. But with the show in trouble and her co-host insisting they go public with their relationship, she needs a huge win to stay on the air. She thinks she has it with the discovery of a possible alien corpse in Peru…until the government arrests her and destroys her evidence.

Desperate for a final shot at redemption, Lauren and her team head to the Pacific Northwest to prove the existence of Bigfoot. There, an encounter with a double-dealing diamond thief leads her into the heart of a volcano, and to a startling connection between this quest and her South American find. But for some reason, Lauren is having trouble remembering what she has learned....

Will this startling breakthrough flip the channel to Lauren’s deadliest episode? Will she get her sensational story on screen, or will she and her team become an endangered species?

The Veritas Codex is the first book in a riveting paranormal thriller series. If you like pause-resisting action, gutsy heroines, and brain-bending bombshells, then you’ll love Lauren Grayson’s breathtaking adventures.

Amazine first book!

What a wonderful listen! I thought i did a review on this book, but apparently not! Never a dull moment, pace was great and the story was amazing! Looking forward to more by Betsey! The books need at least 1 hockey reference per chapter! lol Kidding, this one is perfect as is! Looking forward to starting book 2!

Great read!

This story is a tasty bit of fiction that just might be based in a bit of reality. It's got it all, action, adventure, and a dash of whodunnit. I can't wait for Book 2 - The Jaguar Queen to be available on Audible! Highly recommended!

Something different

The story was a little different and I may have enjoyed it a little bit more if there weren’t so many irrelevant Details. For example, there was a discussion on how the group were going to take their showers and in what order. There was no point to that little irrelevant detail, it certainly didn’t add to the story. But these kind of scenarios were all through the book. Some would’ve been OK but there was just too many. Miss Coello’s narration made Rowan’s voice sound a little wimpy and I kept forgetting that their cameramen, Jean Rene, was French because his accent sounded Hispanic. I will not be pursuing the series.

Horrible narration

I set a fairly low brow for sci-fi, as I love the sci-fi genre and will listen to just about anything that falls into it. This, however, was where I finally draw the line. I can’t speak to the story since I couldn’t get through it. Maybe I’ll try reading it in print, but I just couldn’t stomach the narrator. I only listened to the first hour and it was too painful to continue. I’ve never had a narration completely ruin a book experience for me before, but this one did just that.
