Elena Gilbert is at the heart and soul of The Vampire Diaries series by author L. J. Smith. The novels follow her romances and dramas with the Salvatore brothers, Damon and Stefan. Both are vampires who were turned centuries earlier and find their way to Elena's hometown of Fells Church, VA. She is doppelgänger of the vampire who turned the Salvatore brothers nearly 500 years earlier—Katherine von Swartzchild. As the series unfolds, Elena finds herself being pulled between the two brothers.

Awful

The person who read this ruined the experience. Accents were terrible. Made listening unbearable. Fix this.

New narrator please. Whole book ruined

The narrator ruined the entire experience with her fake Italian accent. She uses the exact same voices for Damen and Stephen. They sound like uneducated boys not the few hundred years old vampires they are. I'm going to try to return these books. I bought the physical book so I can read the story myself. Please please make a new audible version. Surely the franchise can afford to have a new narrator to be hired to redo the audible book.

Loved it!

Once I was able to convince myself that this book had nothing to do with the TV series, I was able to truly enjoy it. The TV series has the same name and some of the characters names are the same as the books but that is where the resemblance ends. This book was fast-paced, thrilling, and hard to put down. I will definitely be getting the next book!

Not a fan of the narrator

I like the book and the characters. I think it's a fun story. What I did not like was the narrator. I was not a fan of her voices, especially for Stefan and Damon. Maybe because I am tainted by the vampire diaries show.

The endings are always so dramatic

The endings are always so dramatic and I love it because you never know what’s going to happen next because it does not follow the TV show

I just don’t know about this..

I am trying hard to like this but it’s so different than the tv show and I hate this Caroline and this Elaina is a cry baby and none of these girls act like they could find their way out of a paper bag if their lives depended on it!! This Stefano seams like a weak person and this Damon is more evil than anything.. these books have no finesse at all, don’t seam to flow well together.. I want to read the rest of the book in the series but it’s almost painful just getting through this one..
