By the end of the book I understood that the universe does not create valleys to harm you. Valleys assist you in becoming your "best self"

this was just what I needed to get things going

I'm so pleased that I got this book. it put things in perspective. the struggles that black women have can be a little different from those of other women. it's much harder for us to find inspirational and social tools due to the diversity of our issues.

Excellent from beginning to end!

This book is a joy, a treasure filled with wisdom and tools to get us through life's challenges with grace and compassion. Although it's written and read to black women, so much of Iyanla's insight is universal. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for inner peace and happiness.

This book was published 25 years ago. I’ve had it in hardcover for a while. I purchased it on audio over a year ago. Every time I turn it on, I feel healing. ❤️‍🩹

There’s nothing like not knowing how much pain I’m in and then being able to release that pain in a way that now takes me up instead of out. Thank you Iyanla for helping me appreciate my valleys…

Value in the valley

This abridged version is very valuable to me. I recommend to all black woman who want to reach their full potential. We are always stuck in a rut not knowing how the patriarchal world we were brought up in impacts the rest of our lives. This books gives you the tool to claim the life you are meant to live. I recommend it highly. Its a book to read and refer to always.
