Publisher's summary

If anyone asks, I knew better than to flash my boobs for Mardi Gras beads.

I still don't know why I did it.

Maybe it was the dare from my two best friends.

Maybe it was the guys on the balcony saying they'd throw Fireball shots with the beads.

Or maybe it was the quiet guy in the corner of that same balcony with piercing gray eyes, wavy dark hair, and a smile so tempting I wanted to climb up there and lick it off his face.

Maybe it was because I never thought I'd see them again.

Not that it matters. Not today.

Because the hotel I manage was finally bought.

And the guy who walks in and introduces himself as my new boss is Mr. Tall, Dark, and Silent.

There are many upsides to being single.

Your new boss knowing what your boobs look like?

Not one of them.

Contains mature themes.

Who knew it was so fun being single?

This book is so lighthearted and fun! I had so much fun reading this. So many parts had my laughing do hard I ended up crying. Emma Hart is definitely a pro with rom-coms!

The narration was great, no complaints.

sexual harassment is not flirting

DNF, couldn't get past all the sexual harassment. one or two inappropriate comments I can handle, but overt sexual harassment from your boss who is a virtual stranger is not cute harmless flirting. It would be different if the main characters had any time to get to know one another prior to inappropriate banter. My husband and guy friends can say things around me that someone I've just met cannot. Being 'hot' doesn't give anyone free license to harass another human being. And harassment doesn't cause "nervous butterflies" it causes anxiety.

Are you kidding me??

What year does the author think this is? Worst book I've listened to in a long time and lately I've been on a roll! The 2 main characters are awful. He is an awful man child who should be sued multiple times over for sexual harrassment and abuse. The man knows no boundaries and is a jerk of the first order. In no world would Mellie be in such a responsible position. She is an immature child. Between the two of them there is not a single redeeming quality. Do yourself a favor a skip this drivel. Your ears deserve better. Jury is out on which of them I liked less. It may be a tie.

Slightly Disappointed

I enjoyed the fact there wasn’t an unrealistic amount of drama in this book, but at the same time, it also bordered on boring in some areas. There were a few cute moments, but it wasn’t laugh out loud funny like I expected. I wasn’t happy with the ending, but I won’t go into any details in order to prevent a spoiler. Simply stated, the book is “okay” but not something I feel I would listen to again.

Narrator was only reason I kept listening

I struggled to finish. I kept thinking a story would develop...it didn't.
Was very disappointed

Sassy story!

I liked how fast you get into the story. The sassing back and forth. Great listen!

Mostly Funny

I really wanted to like this book. I did. It has some really funny parts in it. In the end, I find myself feeling indifferent. I am beginning to think that the word epilogue means pointless. Here, it truly wasn't needed.

Loretta Rawlins is a gem. I love when she narrates. Except that she does over exaggerate a little too much on the steamy stuff.

Normally, I fly through rom-coms. This one took me 3 days to get through. I was just left feeling underwhelmed and unfulfilled.

Just no

This narrator was awful. No voice change for characters and her voice makes you want to tune her out. I hung in because I wanted to see where it went and I typically love Emma, but well it just ends.

Oops, what did she do?

I love Mellie. She is so adorable and cute while being the spitfire Jake calls her. great writing, perfect set up, smoking slow burn heat. I love her friends and can't wait to find out if Dom and Chloe are or aren't and if Payton wins her bet.

awful narration

I love Emma Harts books, they are always a bit different in a good way. My only gripe is the narration, it's not good. No character differentiation, no emotion, a bit child like speaking in broken English. Struggled to listen to it. Won't be listening a 2nd time. Sorry
