Story
When it comes to drumming, Leah Burke is usually on beat - but real life isn't always so rhythmic. She's an anomaly in her friend group: the only child of a young, single mom, and her life is decidedly less privileged. She loves to draw but is too self-conscious to show it. And even though her mom knows she's bisexual, she hasn't mustered the courage to tell her friends - not even her openly gay BFF, Simon. So Leah really doesn't know what to do when her rock-solid friend group starts to fracture in unexpected ways. With prom and college on the horizon, tensions are running high.

Ben survived freshman year of college, but he’s feeling more stuck than ever. His classes are a slog, his part-time job working with his father is even worse, and his best friend Dylan’s been acting weird for weeks. Ben’s only real bright spot is his writing partner Mario, who’s been giving him a lot of Spanish lessons and even more kisses. Mario’s big Hollywood dreams make Ben start to dream bigger - and the choices he makes now could be the key to reshaping his future. So why can’t he stop thinking about a certain boy from his past?

Story
Contrary to popular belief, best friends Kate Garfield and Anderson Walker are not codependent. Carpooling to and from theater rehearsals? Environmentally sound and efficient. Consulting each other on every single life decision? Basic good judgment. Pining for the same guys from afar? Shared crushes are more fun anyway. But when Kate and Andy's latest long-distance crush shows up at their school, everything goes off-script. Matt Olsson is talented and sweet, and Kate likes him. She really likes him. The only problem? So does Anderson.

Jamie Goldberg is cool with volunteering for his local state senate candidate - as long as he’s behind the scenes. When it comes to speaking to strangers (or, let’s face it, speaking at all to almost anyone) Jamie’s a choke artist. There’s no way he’d ever knock on doors to ask people for their votes...until he meets Maya. Maya Rehman’s having the worst Ramadan ever. Why her mother thinks the solution to her problems is political canvassing - with some awkward dude she hardly knows - is beyond her.

Story
In this modern-day love story, girl likes boy. Girl snaps photo and posts it online. Boy becomes insta-famous. And what starts out as an innocent photo turns into a whirlwind adventure that forces them both to question whether fame and love are worth the price and changes both of their lives forever. Told from alternating points of view, #famous captures the sometimes crazy thrill ride of social media and the equally messy but wonderful moments of liking someone in real life.

Publisher's Summary
From the award-winning author of Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda comes a funny, authentic novel about sisterhood, love, and identity.
"Heart-fluttering, honest, and hilarious. I can’t stop hugging this book." (Stephanie Perkins, New York Times best-selling author of Anna and the French Kiss)
"I have such a crush on this book! Not only is this one a must read, but it's a must re-read." (Julie Murphy, New York Times best-selling author of Dumplin')
Seventeen-year-old Molly Peskin-Suso knows all about unrequited love. No matter how many times her twin sister, Cassie, tells her to woman up, Molly can’t stomach the idea of rejection. So she’s careful. Fat girls always have to be careful.
Then a cute new girl enters Cassie’s orbit, and for the first time ever, Molly’s cynical twin is a lovesick mess. Meanwhile, Molly's totally not dying of loneliness - except for the part where she is. Luckily, Cassie's new girlfriend comes with a cute hipster-boy sidekick. If Molly can win him over, she'll get her first kiss and she'll get her twin back.
There's only one problem: Molly's coworker, Reid. He's a chubby Tolkien superfan with a season pass to the Ren Faire, and there's absolutely no way Molly could fall for him.
Right?
Plus don't miss Yes No Maybe So, Becky Albertalli's and Aisha Saeed's heartwarming and hilarious new novel, coming in 2020!

Just Ok
I had high expectations for this book after Simon, which I adored. That's why I have a difficult time expressing my opinion on this one. It took me a really long time to get into it, and while I'm thankful that I didn't end up returning the book, I can't see myself recommending it to anyone. Some of the issues discussed, like growing apart from friends and family when dating, was something I could relate to, but it felt like the theme was only partially developed, or like it was put on the back burner only to be haphazardly "solved" at the end. I don't know, perhaps I need more time to digest my feelings on this book. But I can't help but feel.....underwhelmed.

The reader is AMAZING
First of all, the reader - I love her voice - it's so uplifting and not at all monotone, she changes per character but it's not obnoxious or like she's trying too hard, I honestly wish she read every YA book on audible.
The story is cute and very teenage-y which kinda takes me back in time. It's a sweet book filled with awkward main character who is sweet and nervous and different looking and just looking for love.
It's really a feel-good book I think everyone can relate to.

Not as enjoyable as I expected
I was excited to read this book after I read the summary of it and I was anticipating it for so long that the moment it was released I bought it right away .. sadly I did not enjoy this book as much.. Molly's character is so boring, although I related to her in a lot of situations but she is just so weak willed and I didn't see any character development in her through out the book, I think the diversity overload is what making people hype about it .. but there were some cute moments nonetheless
The narration is what kept me pushing through the book and finish it because the narrator was amazing and she had a wide range of voices, so yeah I don't think I can recommend this book to my friends

Hateable Characters
This is easily the most hateable mail character I have ever done across. in fact other than Reid, there wasn't a truly likeable character in the story.
Molly's obsession with turning mountains into mohills and obsession with making everything about her made it impossible for me to like her.
I don't know how this is a sequel to Loved Simon as it was totally different with different characters and a whole different feel. it was like reading a Judy Blume book. I don't care for a book spending hours on wedding plans and spending the last 2 hours or so of the book on a "who cares" wedding.
The writing itself was good, but the story was a HUGE letdown from the 1st book.

Surprisingly boring
This is my least favorite Becky Albertalli novel. I loved Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda and Leah on the Offbeat, but this was surprisingly boring.
