Publisher's Summary

For every one of his smiles, she thought of his letter and blushed with shame of what she had done. Oh, that she might have just looked at it!

After rejecting Mr. Darcy’s proposal at Hunsford, Elizabeth Bennet is surprised when he finds her walking the next day and hands her a letter. Without any expectation of pleasure - but with the strongest curiosity - she begins to open the letter, fully intending to read it.

It really was an accident - at first. Her shaking hands broke the seal and somehow tore the pages in two. Oh, what pleasure she then felt in tearing the pages again and again! A glorious release of anger and indignation directed towards the man who had insulted her and courted her in the same breath. She did feel remorse, but what could she do? The letter was destroyed, and Elizabeth expected that she would never see Mr .Darcy again.

Home at Longbourn, she discovers that her youngest sisters are consumed by a scheme to go to Brighton - and Elizabeth finds herself drawn to the idea of a visit to the sea. But the surprises of Brighton are many, beginning with a chance meeting on the beach and ending in unexpected romance all around.

*Audio download Issue*

Really enjoying this story and the narration, but I've encountered an issue with the audio download. Chapter 5, which is only 1 minute and 11 seconds, ends abruptly and then the book suddenly skips to chapter 6. Please fix!

Recording Issues

This novella is just exactly what you’d expect. What happens when Lizzie doesn’t read the letter, but the whole family goes to Brighten, not just Lydia, only to run into The Darcys.

There are a couple of other characters to add a little extra depth and, in some cases, charm.

Stevie Zimmerman is marvelous, as usual.

Unfortunately, right at the end, there are recording issues. At the end of one chapter, it cuts off, the next chapter has a mix of what should be the end of the story, as well as part of another missing part of the story.

Great Story, but audio production was poor

I was so disappointed in this audiobook. I enjoyed the story but the audi skipped ahead several places. I tried it many times to make sure it was not my device. I couldn’t even finish it.

pieces missing

this audiobook has been badly edited near the end. there are large chunks missing that would have lengthened and augmented the narrative. it's a cute story but needed the " bits"

Excellent story and great narration

Just under four hours, great story. Have listened to another magical variation by this author and enjoyed it enormously. This one takes place in a seaside setting which was a nice change from the other variations I have read. Content was clean. I did not have any of the problems that the others have reported with chapters being cut off and presume the issue has been dealt with. Stevie Zimmerman is one of my favorite narrators and you can't go wrong with any book that she reads.

Great story

It was a great story. Love the narrator. But there are some chapters cut short in the middle of speaking. That needs to rectified. This concerns the last few chapters and I think somewhere in the middle too. Otherwise great.
