Publisher's summary

A spur-of-the-moment vacation was supposed to jolt Cameron Douglas out of his funk, but it appears he only traded locations.

It was a chance meeting with a handsome stranger that changed everything. Brandon stirs Cameron's interest and his heart, but will the mysterious man reveal his true identity before their vacation in paradise is over?

Sometimes life in the spotlight was a heavy weight to bear for Brandon Bullet.

He never knew if men were interested in him as a person or just enamored with his rock star status - until he meets Cameron Douglas.

It wasn't often that Brandon shared a connection with someone who wasn't aware of his notoriety. He's determined to keep his identity a secret while the two of them get to know each other and before someone blows his cover.

Don't take it too seriously...

Okay I'm not even a little embarrassed to admit (hell I'll shout it from the roof) I totally purchased this one because John Solo and Nick J. Russo narrate it together. They must have practically died laughing during some of the scenes... both the characters are pretty macho guys which leads to some posturing and strutting. I'm guessing the author isn't taking it too seriously, and if you can laugh when you read (or listen to) this one, you're going to have a great time.

Nick J. Russo truly deserves an award for his performance. That he could utter the words, "I'm gonna bottom you so hard..." and not burst out laughing, amazing! (And he actually sells it pretty well.) I can only imagine how many times they almost passed out in hysterics. I really hope Solo and Russo narrate something together again, just please not another novel by this author.

This was SO MUCH FUN! Love the duet narration!

Cameron is on vacation trying to get over an ex in Rio. He meets a “mysterious stranger” at a bar and they have an instant connection. One thing leads to another leads to hot stuff back in the cabana! Eventually Cameron learns his “stranger” is a very famous rock star named Brandon Bullet (though Cameron isn’t familiar with the band) and the two face a decision over what happens next.

**

This is a short story with a promise of more to come. So, with that in mind, and a HUGE GRAIN OF SALT, I give you this review:

I liked it! Sure, there was SO MUCH that was a bit (ahem) unbelievable, but it was FUN! I loved the idea of a hard rockin’ bunch of gay guys with tender hearts finding love on the beach in Rio. (I also kinda love this trope – the secret rich guy who sweeps the plain Joe off his feet…YUM!)

Cameron and Brandon also have unique chemistry in that both are a bit “alpha” and I like it when authors shake up those preconceptions. I also liked that being gay wasn’t “a thing” and that his being famous wasn’t really “a thing”. Instead it was two guys figuring out how their lives could mesh in a seemingly impossible circumstance. (Plus the hot times were HOT!)

So… if you’re willing to suspend your disbelief and just have fun – give this one a go and look for more in the future.

Audio

I LOVED this! This is a “duet” narration, vs. “dual” narration, in that the narrators each use their own voice for one character the entire time, so it really sounds like the two MCs are interacting with one another!

Nick is great as the sexy Brandon, and John Solo does a nice job with the conservative Cameron.

I really enjoyed this and am hoping these two will do the entire series!

love the story and the narrator's

this is my first introduction to this authors writing and I was not disappointed I love this story. Great storyline between Brandon and Cameron, and it also featured my two favorite narrators John solo and Nick Russo , Dynamite combination storyline and narrators . I cannot wait until the next audiobook from this author comes out. I highly recommend this audiobook, you will not be disappointed.

Undercover Rock Star

This book was a super light fun Listen its like a prelude to the actual story but I think this book is fine as a short standalone. The two narrators did a great job with both the voices and making the book come together. I felt like this book was a little on the corny side but that's also what made it good! It was pretty enjoyable to listen to. Brandon is the undercover rock star who happens along Cameron on vacation. They spend a very short amount of time together and totally hit it off. They say they will keep in contact but after a few months of radio silence... Nothing... Now.. if this was RL there are plenty of ways to find and contact someone.. Ends in a HEA/HFN. No cliffhanger.

Great Story & Narrators

Who was your favorite character and why?

I really love both Cameron and Brandon. If I had to pick I would say Brandon because although he is a rock star, he comes across as very down to earth and just looking for love and commitment with someone who will see him for him, not the rock star.

Which scene was your favorite?

I love when Cameron finds out who Brandon really is and it makes no difference to him that Brandon is a rock star.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I don't want to give too much away so I'll just say that the end really moved me.

Any additional comments?

Great story and characters that I really enjoyed. The narrators did a great job of bringing the characters to life and I can't wait for the rest of this series.

Undercover Rock Star

Where does The Undercover Rock Star rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I like this story, but it is more of a prequel for the series than a fully fleshed out story. It does make me want to hear the next story in audio. I want to experience Cameron and Brandon's relationship's growth.

What about John Solo and Nick J. Russo ’s performance did you like?

I only have a couple of books narrated by John Solo, and I think he does a good job. I have other books on my wish list performed by him. Nick J. Russo is one of my favorite narrators, and I have listed to him several times.I think they do a good job together here in giving Cameron and Brandon distinctive voices.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, and I was stuck in traffic during my commute so I was able to listen to the majority of it in one sitting. It made my frustration with the other drivers more bearable.

Any additional comments?

I received a copy of this audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed it enough to purchase the next story in the series.

Nick J. Russo and John Solo are fabulous

Two of my favourite narrators? Dual POV narration? I’m so there.

Cameron Douglas sees himself as a stick-in-the-mud. He chose the Uninhibited Resort in Rio but he’s not interested in all the enthusiastic young nubile flesh. Well, not until he hears a sexy voice and finds himself looking at a sexy chest with barbell-pierced nipples and a six-pack. “Hot Guy” has blue eyes, hair pulled back, and looks gorgeous. When he invites Cameron to join him by the beach, Cameron is all-in.

Brandon Bullet doesn’t give his last name because he is actually a famous rock star, and his band is named Bulletproof. Meeting a great man who doesn’t know who he is gives Brandon the opportunity to just be himself for a short period of time.

Sexy times ensue. Lots of sexy times. What makes it fun is that neither man is a true sub. Brandon has always been expected to take the lead because of his status as a celebrity. With Cameron, though, it’s a battle of wills as to who will wind up on top. One of them turns out to be a switch…so problem solved.

Cameron does attend one of Brandon’s concerts and is blown away – both by the band’s talent as well as the crowd’s adoration. He wants to spend more time with Brandon, but they live on opposite coasts. But what’s a little inconvenience like that when you’ve met someone you really want to be with?

The dual narrators are great. Unusually, each man speaks his character’s lines, even when the story is in the other man’s point of view. It takes a bit of getting used to, but these two men make it work. In my mind, I had Cameron as an average-looking guy. The cover has him sexy as anything. This is a bit of a conventional story, but I’m hoping the next part will differentiate it from the others in this genre. I suspect there will be more fun and sexy times to come.

This is a nice easy listen with low angst and lots of sex.

Quick hot story

Audio and E-book review 3.5 stars

I whispersync (reading while listening) The Undercover Rock Star as this book is free with Amazon Audible Romance Package membership and on the KU membership subscription.

This is a quick short story of insta -lust , Insta-love ; well, insta every thing as 90% of the book take place during 2 days and 1 night .

So, you know the drill , right? Hot man meets an even hotter man on a bar, by the beach while on vacation , their chemistry and sexual compatibility is off the charts hot. Love promises are made , phone numbers are exchanged. This and that happens and it ends in a HFN or maybe it's a HEA, I think as there wasn't an epilogue.

What I liked :
👍lots of sexy times
👍John Solo and Nick J. Russo were fantastic narrators
👍no drama
👍no angst

What I didn't like: there are few inconsistencies and inaccurate information. At first, I wasn't going to mention ; didn't want to appear I was nitpicking but alas, it did bothered me.

👎Cameron one of the heroes said he was in a weekend getaway. A non-stop, direct flight from New York to Rio de Janeiro it's 9hours and 48minutes . Add the 3 hours ahead , you need to be be at the airport for an international flight . So far it's close to 26 hours and you know about the different times zones right. And that Rio de Janeiro it's on the southern hemisphere and New York is western hemisphere ; meaning when is Summer Manhattan is Winter in Rio.

👎Tacos and taco salad isn't a staple food in Brazilian cuisine and culture. Mandioca is to Brazil what corn is to Mexico.
👎Rio de Janeiro is not an island . It's the name of seaside city and it's state.

In summary: if you want to relax for a 1hour and half with a quick, sexy dirty , uncomplicated tale and escape the daily grind , it's very likely you will enjoy this book.

A wonderful story and a great narrration

One of them really needs to take a breather to recharge his batteries, while the other loves to go unrecognized for a change.
In a vacation resort, the two run into each other and have to realize that the chemistry just fits. Cam, however, only learns Brandon's first name, but that's all he needs to know that Brandon is sexy and hot. And Brandon enjoys being desired for his own sake, because Cam clearly has no idea who Brandon really is. Do the two have a chance for more? Brandon is leaving soon and the lives of the two are very different after all.

If you are looking for a sweet and romantic audiobook to read in between, this is it.
Jenna Galicki has a wonderful writing style and managed to captivate me from the beginning with her story of Brandon and Cam. I loved the story.
It only has one drawback: I wish it could have been longer! Sure, it's set up as a novella and contains everything a good story needs: romance, emotions, a bit of drama and a happy ending. Still, I would have loved to hear more from Brandon and Cam.

Nick Russo and John Solo brought the two likable protagonists to life with their wonderful voices and did a great job. It was a pleasure to listen to them and witness how well they portrayed the emotions.I found myself rooting for the two protagonists right along with them.
A great listening experience that I absolutely recommend!

Cameron and Brandon love at first sight.

A well-written story. A lovely romance between a pop star (Brandon) and someone who had no idea who Brandon was. Cameron was on holiday in Rio; after a bad breakup and need a break from work. He stumbles upon Brandon with no idea of who he was. The next few months don't go smoothly at all, and Brandon resigns himself to the fact that Cameron isn't interested in him after no communication for a couple of months.

Well worth the listen/read.

Good narration from John Solo & Nick J Russo easy to listen to and only had to speed up to 1.35.

Sweet heat holiday romance

This short holiday romance novella manages to contain a lot of good stuff in its duration. John Solo and Nick J. Russo's wonderful voices perfectly bring to life two likable, sexy leading men who grab a chance to do something they both need for different reasons. Cameron needs a lift above the mundane to feel alive, and Brandon needs a cloud of obscurity to be considered as a real person for once instead of a celebrity. Their chemistry is instant and they manage to spend sizzling hot moments together before the holiday comes to inevitable end.
There would have been a room for expanding the story but Jenna Galicki handled this novella length well without it feeling too abrupt or abridged. The MCs are lovely, adult characters and you root for their HEA. Perfect lazy afternoon listen!

Great Story & Narration🎧 A Steamy Delight🔥

I loved everything about this book, from Jenna Galicki’s wonderful writing style to the story and characters she created to John Solo and Nick J. Russo’s fabulous narration. I am a huge fan of Rock Star romance and this book did not disappoint on bit. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and held it captive straight to the end. I adored both characters, Cameron Douglas thought a vacation would help get him out of his funk, it was not working until he meets Brandon, there was something about him that peaked his interest. Brandon, a rock star, is used to being approached by fans, so when he meets someone who has no idea of who he is, a someone who he feels drawn to he needs to spend more time with him before his secret is out. The two hit it off and have a wonderful time together, when his bandmates join them Cameron really finds out who Brandon is and what he does. I loved how how much story Jenna Galicki fit into her novella sized book, it is plotted out nicely and there is never a dull moment, it is a sweeping romance with some drama, heartfelt moments and some hot loving. Jenna Galicki, thank you for the greatly entertaining and enjoyable story!

John Solo and Nick J. Russo are fantastic narrators and voice artists. They do an awesome job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them, capturing their emotions and their passion and projecting it into their smoking hot performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the awesome listen🎧
