A Message from The Author

Writing The Undead is a humbling experience. I am eternally grateful to the readers and listeners for the incredible support you always show.

Dan Morgan superbly narrated Parts 1 to 10, but unfortunately he was not able to continue. To my delight, the wonderfully talented Joe Jameson has now taken the series on. His range and skills are superb.

I am aware of the feedback about the voice of one of my characters, Dave. If this change has upset your listening experience then I can only apologise, but both Joe and I, and everyone at Audible, have listened to the points you made and take them very seriously. It is a wonderful thing to have such responsive fans, so willing to listen and work to make it better, plus the interactive nature of the series means you the listener can speak out and say what you like and don't like, otherwise how would we know?

We've got some cracking days ahead of us. Some real stonking rip-roaring storylines to come and both Joe and I can only hope you'll stay with us on this journey.

Take care,

RR Haywood.

Howie and Marcy fight their way back into the fort to rescue Lani, only to find her on a killing spree. Her body made weak by the incessant and relentless purge of the Undead, and believing Howie has betrayed her with Marcy, she now seeks to destroy him and all he loves.

With tensions running high, Maddox and his crews watch on while Howie tries to reason with the woman he thought he loved. She leads him to the armoury, where they are together and alone. She holds a grenade in her hand, ready to detonate.

Every word and sentence packed with emotion, movement. Can't wait for next part. Not want story to end.

The new voice

I do not like the new reader at all and came really close to stop listening to the series.

Another outstanding installment!

Riveting from beginning to end. The series just gets better and better. Every time you think you have this story figured out, there is a curve ball to keep you guessing. The characters are strong and well written. A wonderful romp through post apocalypse England that will have you cheering.

Narrator

The previous narrator was better in my opinion. The current narrator doesn’t seem to change his tone of voice much to differentiate between the characters. And Dave sounds like he is asleep when he talks. JMHO

Tired of the damage to developing characters

This may be a sign of a good series but I hated the heart crushing damage the main characters go through and inflict on the established story environment. As a reader I don’t know what to root for but I also can’t stop listening. I have grown to love the characters. It hurts to see the constantly in a conflict and barely seeing growth. It’s more like a growing down. I really wanted to stop the series several times during this listening but wanted to hear what happened next.

I love Howie, Dave and the gang

Any additional comments?

Best series ever. I am in love with the characters. They seem so real to me. Haywood is an excellent story teller and keeps my attention from the first sentence to the last. Great narration too.

where is Dan and WTH haywood....

I HATED the narrator change at first but it did get better toward the end... still not nice to switch half way through..

As for the story, it's just getting crazy. I know it has to to keep going but the deaths in this one is just plain hurtful:(
