Australia is home to some of the most unusual animals in the world. Did you know, millions of years ago, all the continents were clumped into one large landmass?
When the continents began to break away, South America, Antarctica, and Australia were still stuck together. Later, South America connected to North America, but Australia separated. It kept evolving in isolation, which is why the animals of Australia can look very different from animals anywhere else in the world.
Australian fauna is dominated by marsupials and monotremes, which are not often found anywhere else in the world. The continent also has a rich variety of birds and ocean animals. It is home to 200,000 species of insects, impressively!
This book was created in hopes of spreading education and awareness about one of the world's most isolated and dangerous ecosystems.
In this book, you'll discover facts about:
- Kangaroos
- The venomous platypus
- The prehistoric cassowary
- The happiest animal In the world, the quokka
- The stunning black swan
- The feared king brown snake
- Fairy penguins
- Emus
- Tasmanian devils
- And much more

Omg!! I wanted to go to Australia so much, but I was scared because I heard many histories about wild animals that I should take into consideration, but this book explains very well why Histories and myths are just myths, example like Kangaroo Ko, I heard people say, they will always attack you they are very wild and I should be very careful, but the author explains very well, they don’t attack you instead they hide; that makes sense, actually Now definitely I going Australia after listening to this book, I want to see a Koala.(I can’t wait)

It talks all about the native animals to the continent and describes some of their distinct features. I won’t mention all the animals / facts here (I don’t want to spoil the book, after all), but one of my favorite facts was how kangaroos have bacteria in their guts that reduce the amount of methane they emit when they flatulate. Fascinating!
I’m not totally sure how many animals this audiobook covered, but it sure felt like a lot, and I was definitely pleased with the listen in the end. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re an animal lover or trying to go to Australia soon-ish.
Nice, quick listen
