makes sight reading easier

this book made me realize how much time i waste scanning instead of actually reading. The drills are short and easy to stick with, and I felt like I was improving after a few sessions. thinking maybe I might not be terrible at piano after all.

I had just enough piano lessons and music theory to understand about 50% of the technical music vocabulary in this book. My nephew, on the other hand, is finishing his PhD in trombone performance and has subbed at the Detroit Symphony this season. Listening to this book impressed upon me the shear complexity of the task that is sight reading and the amount of focus, practice, and skill he needs each time he faces an audition. I loved the way the authors broke down the components of sight-reading and provided musicians with evaluation tools and a systematic plan for achieving mastery.
