I don’t mind the use of AI voices in an audiobook as long as I know before I buy it, but these books claim to be read by actual living audio narrators, and yet some (not all) of the books are clearly AI — getting standard diction perfect in different languages but unable to read dialects (at least in English), clearly pronouncing typos (which a human reader would correct automatically), reading periods as full stops in inappropriate places (I.e., stopping a sentence after the “St.” in “St. John”). And, of course, emotion-free.

So if you buy this, you will get the words of some of the books clearly enunciated, but without emotion or a reader’s judgment. On the bright side, there are some human performers that are well worth the price of the collection, for example, Wilfred Morgan’s rendition of Don Quixote.
