The Twisted Sword is the eleventh novel in Winston Graham's hugely popular Poldark series, which has become a television phenomenon starring Aidan Turner.

Cornwall 1815. Demelza sees a horseman riding down the valley and senses disruption to the domestic contentment she has fought so hard to achieve. For Ross has little option but to accept the summons – and travel to Paris with his family, as an 'observer' of the French armed forces.

Parisian life begins well with an exhilarating round of balls and parties. But the return of Napoleon brings separation, distrust and danger to the Poldarks . . . and always for Demelza there is the shadow of the secret she does not even share with Ross.

The Twisted Sword is followed by the eleventh book in the Poldark series, Bella Poldark.

Reseñas de la Crítica

Ross is one of literature's great heroes . . . [with] elements of Darcy, Heathcliff, Rhett Butler and Robin Hood (Debbie Horsfield)
From the incomparable Winston Graham . . . who has everything that anyone else has, then a whole lot more.
Absorbing World • Outstanding Narration • Great Story • Continuing Saga • Expressive Performance • Precise Voice Acting

This was one of my favorites of the Poldark series. The description of the Battle of Waterloo was haunting and broke my heart. The characters and relationships have been so beautifully crafted and developed that you cannot help but be drawn in. The performance by Mr. Hemsbrough will take yoir breath away.

Favorite of all the books I've read so far! Ends beautifully and hope they continue the show to see it played out on tv!

A wild ride

Loved the continuing saga of the Poldark family. Imperfect heroes, with true to life twists.

Predictable as well as unpredictable.

By far the saddest book of the series. I had to pull my car over to weep at a certain point in the story. The performance of the audio is outstanding, expressing all the high voltage emotions in this particular novel.

Cried!

Loved this book as I have done with the others. Recommend everyone to listen to W Grahams books.
