Samuel Willard (1640-1707) was a New England puritan This book is a series of expository sermons preached on Psalm 32 at South Church in Boston sometime before 1700. In these sermons, Mr Willard deals with the essential doctrines of justification and sanctification, and thus presents how one might be happy now and forever. Born in 1640 at Concord, Massachusetts, Samuel Willard was one of the most important preachers among the second generation of New England Puritans. He graduated Harvard College in 1659 and went on to pastor two different churches, the church in Groton and then Boston’s South Church.
