Publisher's summary

If she has her way…

Willa Davis is wrangling puppies when Keane Winters stalks into her pet shop with frustration in his chocolate-brown eyes and a pink bedazzled cat carrier in his hand. He needs a kitty sitter, stat. But the last thing Willa needs is to rescue a guy who doesn't even remember her....

He'll get nothing but coal in his stocking.

Saddled with his great-aunt's feline from hell, Keane is desperate to leave her in someone else's capable hands. But in spite of the fact that he's sure he's never seen the drop-dead gorgeous pet shop owner before, she seems to be mad at him.

Unless he tempers "naughty" with a special kind of nice...

Willa can't deny that Keane's changed since high school: He's less arrogant, for one thing - but he doesn't even remember her. How can she trust him not to break her heart again? It's time to throw a coin in the fountain, make a Christmas wish - and let the mistletoe do its work.

Loved the story, not the narrator

I enjoyed this book, but the lady narrating it was always at a frantic pitch the entire story with very little change in her tone. It gets exhausting to listen to the story and find I'm tuning out.

Not a great audio, I did not enjoy.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No, the performance was not good. The strong character had a Minnie Mouse voice.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

What wasn't in Minnie Mouse was monotone.

Was The Trouble with Mistletoe worth the listening time?

no, I didn't finish it.

Another perfect book

Jill did again with this one. Loved seeing how Willa finally gives in to her feelings and not just those of everyone else. Keane is a great character with a lot of baggage but finally realizes what he can have if he only lets himself. Would highly recommend this book.

Female voice is too young, monotone & wimpy. Not sensual at all

Disliked narration especially the female voice. Too young, does not come across as sensual at all. Monotone

Not letting your past control your future

What made the experience of listening to The Trouble with Mistletoe the most enjoyable?

I loved the interaction the two characters had plus the twist of humor.

What did you like best about this story?

That you could really feel the struggle both Will and Keane had with opening themselves up to each other.

Have you listened to any of Karen White’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first performance I have listened to of Karen White's.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I really felt sad for both Keane and Willa with the childhoods they had but I also laughed at the twist of humor in this book.

Any additional comments?

I absolutely loved this book! Very well written and the narrator's voice really pulled you into the story.

Willa and Keane grew on me :)

Listened/Read for Fun (Audible)
Overall Rating: 4.25
Story Rating: 4.00
Character Rating: 4.50

Audio Rating: 4.50 (not part of the overall rating)

Quick Thoughts: So I admit in the beginning I was a little annoyed with Willa and Keane. Willa because she expected him to remember something and Keane because he was just so freaking stubborn. These usually end up being some of my favorite types of stories and this one definitely did. I am glad they came around and their HEA was great!!!!!!!

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated by Karen White/ Length: 10 hrs and 1 min

Karen and Jill make a great combination! Karen really gets Jill's characters and can bring them to life with the right balance of spunk and emotion. I really do recommend this on audio.

Part of my Read It, Rate It, File It, DONE!

The Dudette has Tude

Where does The Trouble with Mistletoe rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Good but not author's best. See Rumor Has It and Then Came You as they are author's best and are re listens when you need a great laugh or pick me up. This author always makes you feel good

Who was your favorite character and why?

Petunia, pure meows of laughter

Which scene was your favorite?

All the puppy and cat scenes, and Elle/ Archer. Their story is the best book in this trilogy.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Karen White reader is the best. See her in Julie James series as that is her all time best. My fave Love Irresistibly, not to be missed.

Any additional comments?

Note I do use the new 1.25x speed to match the author's intent
