Publisher's summary

The first three books in the Traveler series in one bundle!

Book One: Home

He thought he was prepared. He thought his family was safe. He was wrong.

Five years after a pneumonic plague killed two-thirds of the world’s population, army veteran Marcus Battle is isolated. He’s alone with his guns, his food, and the graves of his wife and child.

Unaware of the chaos that’s befallen everything outside of his central Texas ranch land, Marcus lives a Spartan life. If anyone steps onto his property he shoots first and never ask questions.

But when a woman in distress, chased by marauders, seeks asylum, Marcus has a decision to make.

Does he throw her to the wolves to protect himself, or does he help her and leave the shelter and protection of home?

Book Two: Canyon

He’s homeless. He’s on the run. and he wants revenge.

Marcus Battle has left behind his home.

Now he’s on a seemingly impossible mission to find a missing child. But can he balance that responsibility with his deep, primal desire to exact revenge on the men who destroyed his solitary existence?

The world he discovers on his journey isn’t the one he remembers before a pneumonic plague called the Scourge killed two-thirds of the world’s population. It is lawless, depraved, and far deadlier than the disease which created it.

Battle made a promise to find that child. It’s a promise he regrets more acutely with every step of the journey where he is as much the hunter as he is the hunted.

Book Three: Wall

He survived the scourge. He escaped the cartel. Now he faces the wall.

In the chaos of a global plague, evil took hold. Governments fell, the good became servants, and the Cartel rose to power.

A wall was built to contain the wasteland and keep the evil at bay. Now an organized resistance wants change. They're willing to fight for it and they've asked Marcus Battle to help.

The last thing Battle wants is another war. But if that's what it takes to gain freedom and safe passage to the other side of the wall, he'll take aim and fire.

Weird, lots of gun play

The Traveler Series was worth listening to even though there was so much shoot em up bang bang. The whole of the story takes place in just a few weeks. That surprised me. Great narrator.

THE BEST IVE READ IN A LONG TIME.

Kevin pierce's narration draws you into the books story even deeper, I absolutely love his narration!
the series is the best one I've read in a VERY long time. I've listened to several TEOTWAWKI series/books, and I have to say this is my #2 if not 1 in all.

One of the best dystopian novels

This is a great series. The story takes place after a collapse of the United States due to a pandemic. The main character is a veteran that has lost his family do to the virus. I suspect he suffered from PTSD and then after losing his family he loses it.

He talks to his deceased son and his wife which at first I found a bit confusing if he was totally delusional and how much of the events were real or perhaps imaginary as he has frequent flashbacks to the Middle East.

The “country” ( seems to be Texas ) is run by a warlord. Some of the warlords soldiers get into with him and then it’s on much like Rambo. The series is very exciting an easy listen.

The narrator is excellent and I enjoyed the cadence and the way he reads. If you like dystopian fiction listen to this series will not disappoint.

Distilling a genre into a book

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

TLDR; This is a solid book/s, for a single credit this is well worth your time if you're a fan of the lone survivor who's TOO good type of story.

It's a post-civilization collapse, Battle (The main character's last name), is the lone survivor that gets dragged back to the world and needs to right all its wrongs. The author is self-aware enough that there are some good self-referencing lines. Those lines act as a good anchor for the story, it's not meant as a serious survival style story, it's an action movie with big explosions, too much good luck, and a rag-tag crew.

If you already enjoy that style of book this is a good grab, if you're looking to test the waters this is a great entry point. There are more books in the series but these wrap up well as a potential ending point. So if you want more there's more, if you've decided it's not for you, then you can get off the ride at a good point.

The best Tom Abrahams series yet!

Mr. Abrahams just keeps getting better. This is a fantastic box set. I loved the ending of the story. I highly recommend this box set. I don't know is I spent a credit or if the author/narrator gave this to me for free, so: Now for the obligatory: "I was given this free review copy audio-book at my request and have voluntarily left this review." "I was voluntarily provided this review copy audio-book at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.”

Good

This story is good. The prepper in everyone should be awakened from this kind of story (unless you are already in that mindset which is why you are looking into this type of book). This story discusses how evil man can be and what one will have to do to survive in a world ruled by evil men. I feel having Marcus Battle as a combat veteran is very logical where I cannot see normal citizens being able to go through this scenario successfully. I appreciate that realism by the author.
I like to take the time to imagine myself in the character's shoes and try and see what I would do better. It is not good to think the author should have changed the actions of characters based on what you would do personally as you do not necessarily know the experience the author is pulling from for these scenarios. With that said, the actions of Marcus Battle in this series is almost exactly how I would react in this situation with some minor differences.
If you like PA type stories, this one is a good one. However, the situation that causes this PA scenario is quite scary. No EMP here, disease. Which is super scary.

I highly recommend this series as I am starting the next 3 book set. The ONLY negative thing I have to say is the narrator is not my favorite. I have heard far worse, but he is number 2 or 3 on my favorite list. The change in character voices puts him high on my list but he is no Duke Fontaine. 2 thumbs up for this book set and the narrator. Great work.

Sig sauer pronunciation

Overall decent book series. Got a little bit dull after 2nd book but cant complain too much since it came in a bundle of 3 for cheap.
Just wish the narrator would stop pronouncing Sig Sauer as Sig “Sour”
Only complaint.
