Tiffany Barnes is a young girl who grows up in a small town outside Salt Lake City, where behind closed doors, she is experiencing fear from living in an abusive home. After her parents get divorced, Tiffany is put into situations of sexual abuse with her stepfather and a family friend. When she speaks up about what happened, she is not validated or supported. A bouncing period begins, and Tiffany moves multiple times, trying to find safety, but is unable to gain consistency.
At age 15, she makes the decision to be emancipated, and this sets off a new stage in her life where she's forced to make adult decisions in order to survive. The Throw Away Girl is a compelling tale about resilience, acceptance, and creating a new sense of home.

Strong woman
I felt like I grew up with Tiffany. The trauma she went through as a child and teen really broke my heart and couldn't believe this happens. I listened to this book while I was in Peru and I could not stop listening to it. So many things that had happened to Tiffany and her siblings. I'm blessed to know her now. I've encourage her to write another book on the next chapter of her life. love you Tiffany Barnes!
