Insightful, simple look at all employee's needs
Patrick once again has written a very insightful and entertaining book regarding leadership. In this case, he concentrates on how management can change the culture, increase output and productivity, and improve employee commitment and retention. He identifies the important traits/needs of everyone, and provides some great tools and examples of how to utilize these in motivating and working with your employees. By applying these, it would appear that drastic improvements of employee morale can be attained. To think that it is just three factors: Irrelevance, Immeasurement and Anonymity, that destroy our framework for working effectively in our jobs is just brillant, but so simple. This book is an easy and must read for all that manage people.

Another gem
Would you listen to The Three Signs of a Miserable Job again? Why?
Yes - The fable format works for me, making the concepts memorable.
What other book might you compare The Three Signs of a Miserable Job to and why?
Anything else by Patrick Lencioni. Everything he writes has some gems. He simplifies complex issues and yet keeps focused on organizational health.
Any additional comments?
The three signs are anonymity, irrelevance and lack of measurement. In other words, to enjoy a job, we must feel a personal connection, know that our work has meaning and know how to measure it.

Author should do some research
I was assigned this book at work or else I would have abandoned it in the first few minutes. No research, no evidence, just a few ideas that happy employees may be more productive. Well, duh. The author doesn't seem to have much experience in the business world. But it does inspire me to think I too could pound out a business book in a weekend. I recommend that you just read one-page book summaries of this rather than spend nearly 5 hours to learn the 3 points.

Every person who is involved with others READ IT!
"If you or I are part of any kind of organization we would do well to know and deal with these 3 signs. This is for all of us at all levels of the organization from the CEO to the person who empties the trash at night.
1. We must be known as a person by someone
2. We must know how our work impacts the lives of others
3. We must know how we are doing and be able to assess that our selves
You WILL gain valuable insights to people from understanding what Patrick has written in this book. You can understand what we need as people for our own growth and to assist others too.

Great model
I really enjoyed the format of this book, with the story being told in almost a fictional account as a way to demonstrate the concepts. Brilliant! I’m now thinking about how to better support my employees, as well as my own personal engagement and contentment at work

A must read for allllllllllll!!!
This book was gifted to me in a time of my profession at In N Out Burger by a manager I helped open his store. I am soooooo passionate about service, building people up and empowering others- that at the time he gave it to me (as a gift for helping open his store) the title alone was off-putting. However years later- I realize the gifts he saw in me and became a huge compliment and inspiration for my current job and all of my current and future goals!!!! This book is absolute GOLD!!!! A TRUE GOLD MINE! Relatable, real, simple, an easy- don't want to put down, read! So we'll done!

Great Book! Full of Fresh and useful ideas.
This book was different from wat I was expecting. But, it was a great listen from beginning to end. There are many useful insights and tips about business and teams management. I was surprised to hear So many fresh ideas which I never heard before in other books or articles. I like the length of the book, it is not too long. There are some paragraphs, that felt a little bit unnecessary, about the personal life of the fictional character. But you can fast forward these parts. The narration was Great. All in all, a very pleasant surprise.

Relevance
Not only did I learn new concepts, but it was also a confirmation of many of the things that I have done over the years without really understanding what I was doing. This model gives me the framework and structure to do more within my own company.
