Publisher's summary

When Teddy Kagan finds a pure red heifer on the Florida ranch of a TV evangelist, he knows (thanks to his knowledge of Scripture and biblical prophesy) that he has discovered the first step in a plot to speed up the bloody End of Days and the Second Coming of Christ: a plot which could lead to a nuclear Holy War.

And it's Teddy's job to stop it from happening.

Fantasy? Not exactly. The plot is actually under way.

The Tenth Cow, the third novel by Aram Schefrin, takes the story to its limits, tracing what has already happened, and what could happen, through a brilliant cast of characters in Israel and America. Add polo, Kabbalah, the American president, and a strange love affair into the mix, and you get a rich stew of romance, satire and suspense - and a scary look at what might become the most important event of our time.

Tough listen

The story was a little hard to follow, but was overwhelmed by the horrible audio quality. The reader (the author I think) should stick to writing only. In addition, the book has background noises in many scenes - very annoying. It also has the worst music repeated between chapters.

Wrong stuff

This disjointed story of a plot to create disaster and thus bring on the messianic age is apparently intended as humorous -- but beware. The jokes are not funny, and the story, beginning with a mad cap trip to Jerusalem with little discernible motive and totally absurd incidents is about as easy to follow as the tunnel under the Temple Mount which appears early on. Added to generally unappealing plot, language and story-telling is the author's own quite odd reading.

Suffering something between a head cold and a lisp the reader is occassionally incomprehensible and never attractive.

Don't waste your credit

Couldn't even get through the first segment. The narrator was horrible and the plot was more like a porn novel.

Pass

I have to agree with the previous reader. The author/narrator is sufferings from a bad head cold and a lisp. He is very hard to follow, I couldn't figure out if it was the media that was skipping or the narrator. It seems like the author was all over the place. I waited the whole book for the plot to take off. It never does. Skip this one.

OMG - This is awful!

Terrible narration. Bad sound effects. Music between chapters is just dumb, and not a very good plot to boot. It's possible a professional narrator could have saved this audio book...not certain. Certainly seems like the author, who was the principal narrator, used family members to carry out character narration. Really bad. Save your money/credits!
