Publisher's Summary

At the end of the 24th century, war is fought in a civilized manner: Each side hires mercenaries to engage in combat in specifically designated areas. To the victor go the spoils - whatever they may be.

After a couple of assignments involving more intrigue and skullduggery than the Cutter Force Initiative ever wanted, the unit is looking forward to being part of a straight-up, short-term industrial war on Earth.

Cutter agrees to a support role offered by an old army comrade who's now a general in a larger military force. The pay is good, the unit happy. All they have to do is basic ranger stuff: sneak and peek, shoot and scoot.

But what starts out as a corporate fight to occupy a valuable piece of contested territory quickly goes sideways, and once again Cutter and crew find themselves in the middle of situations in which things aren't as they seem, and the unit must determine the truth - or lose more than just a battle.

I really enjoyed this series. Glad I stumbled upon it. I listened to all 3 books in as many days.

good characters, great dialogue

the expressed perspective on Christianity is shallow, narrow-minded, and bigoted. the self-righteous accusation of self-righteousness is ironically hypocritical

I enjoyed this one a lot. Maybe more than 2 which was more than 1 . . . 😱

My Favorite of the Trilogy. Then #2. Then #1.
Haven’t been able to find Steve Perry’s best know work in audible.
The man is prolific and I suspect a lot of his work is merely passable - but his imagination in these characters and the worlds he creates is fascinating. And his corporate war “rules of engagement” clever! Enjoyed all! 😱

————————————————————————————————————————
5 stars is great (I rarely give this rating).
4 stars is good (given only to interesting and well-written books).
3 stars is OK (the usual listen I encounter on Audible).
2 stars is poor (and not worth the credit or the listen).
1 star is awful (and to be diss'ed and shunned and spread as thus through out the Audible Universe)!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 😱

Got too woke to be enjoyable anymore.

Action is good. Arcs are okay. Characters are interesring. Woke Messaging got boring. Too bad. If there had been less of that, or even some subtilty to it, might have stuck with the rest of the series.

As usual

Great story. Line up is ofcourse the same but I think the easiest plot to follow so far. If writer run empty of stories I would not be surprised to see a new attempt on the world largest trilogies (which is 5 and 4 I think, finished the 4th in one the other day.

An excellent addition to a wonderful series. Good story, great performance. Had me hooked from the beginning of volume one! Here's hoping for a part four. I would miss the/my family otherwise!

Hell of a fine finale.

A great book and a great ending. The author mixes intense action intriguing plot lines, comedy and romance. Who said war can’t be fun?
I’m interested to see what else the author has written other than this series.

Good series that R.C. Bray probably elevates

having just read the series of 3 book's I was pleasantly surprised for an included title.
solid military space opera with strong characters and a good plot that zip's along
Something that's a little annoying is the need to cover the same ground in the 2nd and 3rd book's an example is the explanation of 1 character's knife and his sharpening of it , also the ending was a little contrived and simplistic but not unbelievable.
But R.C. Bray's delivery is excellent and shows why he is one of the best narrator's on audible, because he can take a solid but fairly simply written book and elevate the experience for the listener .

Entertaining till the end

This was a brilliant addition to the series and nice conclusion to the story. A true gem and RC Bray brings the characters to life
