Publisher's summary

Honey Pieretti is sick and tired of being so nice. After she's taken advantage of on her favorite baking-themed TV show, Honey and her lifelong best friend, Carter, decide to cast aside their trusting personalities by starting a competition to toughen up.

It's all fun and games until Honey realizes she's falling in love with her best friend. Convinced he doesn't feel the same way, she must decide if she can live without his friendship or hide her feelings forever. But as the competition heats up and Honey's given a chance at TV redemption, she finds that more than just love could ruin their friendship.

Can she prove to the boy next door that she's still the girl he knows?

Cute, fun, and oh so good!

I love a friends to lovers story. Eryn Scott is a new author to me and I think she is very talented. Yes, the story is sweet without being cheesy. The plot is not overly original, but it does not make the book any less enjoyable. I thought the narrator did a very good job. Her voice fit the book in my mind. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at my request by the author, narrator, and or publisher. This book is part of a series, and a standalone listen. I will look for more books by this author and narrator.

The Shenanigans of Honey Pie

I love Eryn Scott's books/audiobooks. She pens fun, likeable, even relatable characters with real life situations and settings. I thought The Sweetness of Honey Pie was just that. It was a lighthearted contemporary romance set around Honey, who owns a bakery and tries desperately to hook up with her bestie Carter. She also gets to go on TV and take part in a cooking contest that goes south plus a second chance at redemption. At just under five hours, this was a great listen.

Allyson Voller's performance was amazing. Her voice fit Honey so perfectly. She's a wonderful voice actor and her read was natural with great voice inflections and just the right pace.

The Sweetness of Honey Pie is truly a sweet read.

When Honey, who is as sweet as her name, gets walked on by another contestant in a baking show, her and her best friend want to become tough. But as they transform, she falls in love, awkwardness ensues.

I found this book enjoyable, romantic, cute and funny.

Yes it was

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed the story line. It was funny, sweet and just a story I didn't want to stop listening to. I was so invested I ended up getting the ebook so I could continue reading when I got to my destination. While it's not a long listen its a great story. I would have been happy if I had given a credit for this book. I was gifted this book for an honest review. I would happily listen to this story again and again as it was so delightful

A cute, sweet story of two best friends

The Sweetness of Honey Pie written by Eryn Scott is a cute listen that revolves around Honey and Carter, two best friends, and their emerging feelings for each other. In addition, Honey owns a bakery, appeared on a game show and made a fool of herself. Both Carter and Honey are kind of pushovers and they decide to become badasses. Their plan backfires and that's all I'll say as to not ruin the story.

Allyson Voller did a good job with the narration, and I felt that her voice was perfect for what I would imagine Honey to sound like. The story itself was cute and both Honest and Carter make mistakes that lead to some awkward situations and assumptions in their lives. It comes complete with a HEA, so don't worry that you won't get one!

So sweet!

Would you listen to The Sweetness of Honey Pie again? Why?

This was such a cute story. I am a total sucker for stories of friends possibly becoming more! I'm so excited that I just realized this is the 3rd in a series, so apparently it's great as a stand alone as well. I will also definitely be looking for more books done by this narrator. She actually made the story for me, with her perfectly "casted" voice! She sounded exactly like I pictured Honey Pieretti would sound! "Cute and Sweet Read! "

If you could sum up The Sweetness of Honey Pie in three words, what would they be?
Cute, Sweet and Quirky!

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I really liked the bakery aspect of the story and all the work that goes on behind the scenes. Honey finding herself throughout the story was another part of the story I enjoyed as well.

Have you listened to any of Allyson Voller’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, I haven't but after listening to this performance I will be sure to check her other works out. She really brought the characters to life in this book! Well done!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Honey has her "aha" moment and realizes it's ok to put yourself and happiness first. To stand up for yourself and not let others walk all over you.

Any additional comments?
This was a cute feel good story that will leave you smiling. Perfect read for a summer day.

Adorably Sweet!

After another contestant steals her recipe during a reality baking show, Honey Pieretti decides to get tough and stop letting people walk all over her. Her best friend Carter, a local reporter and altogether too nice boy-next-door, decides to join her. They start with makeovers and graduate to tattoos and biker bars. Along the way, Honey starts to see the sweet boy she grew up with in a new light, and fears that these new feelings will ruin their decades-long friendship. But she can't become the strong person she wants to be without being truly honest with herself, and with Carter.

I can't think of an adjective that describes this book better than sweet! Honey and Carter's friendship is endearing, and their conversations in person and text are adorable. They know each other so well, and their friendship feels so genuine. You can just picture them as kids together, with their inside jokes and the way they protect each other.

I had a smile on my face through most of the book, from the introduction to the satisfyingly sweet ending. I really didn't want it to end. With the descriptions of all those cupcakes and tarts and muffins... let's just say you shouldn't read this one before a grocery trip or you will be buying all the sweets!

Allyson Voller did a great job as narrator, she was the perfect choice to narrate the book from Honey's point of view. Her tone was pleasant and friendly, and her character voices enhanced the story.

I received a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I would 100% recommend this book, and I have it on my reread list already.

Sweet like Honey

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. I enjoyed the wholesomeness of this story. The characters were cute. I could see myself in Honey most of the time. However, some her crazy antics were hilarious. The narrator did a great job with the characters and bringing them to life. Really enjoyed this light, cute romance.
