The campus of Maine's Bowmouth College looks like a picture postcard of New England-snow-covered lawns, students in colorful ski parkas, icicles dangling on the ivied halls. Sarah Deane-English Fellow with an honorary degree in sleuthing-expects to spend a quiet term here taking some graduate courses and doing a little teaching. But then Sarah finds that someone's organized an advanced course in murder. The first lesson comes when a woman student is found frozen into a prize-winning snow sculpture during Carnival weekend. The second is served up with a cozy cup of poisoned cocoa. And when the clues point straight to an English department already rife with rivalries, Sarah realizes that a little learning can be a very dangerous thing...©1986 J.S. I have read this book in print twice and I liked it. It’s not top drawer mystery, but it’s clever, with some engaging characters and a unique setting. The narrator committed nothing short of a crime upon the book, and I persisted in listening only so I could review it. She delivered every bit of dialogue as those the story was a silly sit-com. I could almost see her rolling her eyes. In addition, her efforts to distinguish characters with different voices were pathetic. But the very worst part was her not only mispronouncing words (pavane as “pavan - ee” for instance), but her calling one of the characters alternately “Donelli” (correct) and “Donnelly” (glaringly incorrect since the character identifies herself as Italian American). This narrator was the worst I have ever heard on an Audible recording, and showed no respect for the book or the listeners.

The worst narration ever
