Publisher's summary

Charles Coffin's The Story of Liberty, originally published in 1879, is not America's story alone. It belongs to all those who are enjoying freedom and liberty in any part of the world. And it belongs to all nations that will yet serve Him. As we reach back into the records of history to observe the hand of the Great Author of all liberty, we will find direction for the days ahead and discover the keys we need to understand and interpret the future.

Facinating history

This book gave me a different view of the foundational history of America's birth than I'd ever been exposed to previously. Though written for young readers and read by all 8th graders at Cair Paravel Latin School, a premier classical Christian school, it is a facinating account of the unfathomable human sacrifices which, over hundreds of years, resulted in America's true liberty which we now enjoy, but which is now also beign turned toward social liberalism -- away from religious freedom. It is a worthy read.

Very important history

This book is worth reading. It is well written and an entertaining read (despite being written for children and teenagers). Most important though, this book does a powerful job of showing just how precious our freedom is and how dearly it has been bought. This is not a book about wars and nations, it is a book about individuals who were brave enough to make a difference.

So Much Good History

There is so much incredible history here in these pages. This will give you a whole new appreciation for the liberty that we have today. There has been so much blood shed for men to have the freedom of conscience and the divine privilege to think for themselves. I highly recommend this book.

Those who fail to learn from the past are doomed..

Doomed to repeat it that is. This is an amazing work of enlightenment an easy book to listen to and hard to turn off. Be warned that much of this work is graphic and disturbing to hear about. Knowing what took place in the past should make anyone with half a mind determined to want those in government to stop taking us down the ill-advised path they are currently taking this country on. Listen, learn, pass it on.
