Publisher's Summary

How can she protect her kingdom, if she can’t protect herself?

Arie eagerly anticipates becoming queen of her humble kingdom. Even when a jinni’s gift manifests before her 18th birthday, she fights to hide the forbidden ability.

But when a neighboring king attempts to manipulate her into marriage and steal her kingdom, discovery feels imminent. Just one slip could cost her throne. And her life.

A jinni hunter and his crew of thieves are the only thing that might help her remove this gift. And she must remove it before it’s exposed. Or die trying.

The Stolen Kingdom is a loose “Aladdin” retelling. Set in a world that humans share with mermaids, dragons, and the elusive jinni, this isn’t the fairy tale you remember!

Fans of fairy tale retellings like The Lunar Chronicles, supernatural fantasy worlds like The Cruel Prince, and stories with a crew of thieves like Six of Crows will be drawn to the romance, tension, and magical surprises of the jinni and human worlds colliding in Bethany Atazadeh’s The Stolen Kingdom series.

Good, lost myself in the world building.

The book is a fairytale retelling. I liked the story, and found I didn't want to turn it off. The world building is strong.

This is a fun listen. Well worth purchase.

Oh, it has jinn. Love jinn stories.

Fantastic Story! Can't wait for book two!

I love this author. You should check out her YouTube channel!

Only con: You sounded a little froggy reading it honey. Maybe listen back and think about how you can improve the voices or hire someone else. I'll still buy all your books though because you're a fabulous writer and I like you as a person.

Sucks you in...

This was a great book to listen to, very engaging. I felt as if I were there watching all the events unfold. It was definitely difficult to stop listening. The narrator did an excellent job with all the voices of the characters and proper pronunciation of difficult words like “hodafez”. Great book!

Calming Voice and Fun Story

the narrator's voice is so smooth and calming, I really love listening to her. i really love this story; it's such a new, fun, and unique twist on the classic and it follows the girl instead of the boy (yay!).

an amazing retelling!

I was honestly super skeptical. I am really not one for too many retellings.
but I was wrong.
this retelling was so fun!
it took all the best parts of the fairy tale we knew and turned them in so many directions what felt brand new.
it did lean on a handful of tropes and one or two cliches, but it wasn't offputting.
I absolutely loved it, and I haven't had this much fun in a while.
