Acerca de esta escucha
'Heartbreaking and inspiring in equal measure. A must-read.' Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester
'Nicola is a beautiful human being and her story is full of the joys and sorrows of humanity.' Cathy Rentzenbrink
The inspiring, life-affirming memoir from Nicola Nuttall about her incredible daughter Laura
‘The words were like a wave in the sea that lifted me off my feet, unmoored and scrabbling for something solid to hold me up, but the sand had fallen away, and I was adrift. The sea was vast, and I was lost and utterly numb.’
When Nicola Nuttall was told that her 18-year-old daughter Laura had only 12 months to live, following a diagnosis of the most aggressive form of brain cancer, glioblastoma multiforme, it was her greatest fear come true. But while her mother struggled to adjust and searched for new treatments, Laura decided to embark on an extraordinary bucket list. Meeting Michelle Obama, piloting a Royal Navy ship, skydiving and graduating from university were just some of Laura’s many incredible adventures.
The Stars Will Still Be There is Nicola’s beautiful account of helping her daughter make the most of her remaining time, reminding us all to live life to the fullest and ‘Be More Laura’ every single day.

'Laura never stopped fighting for a better world and her star continues to shine brightly. The bond she shared with her mum, Nicola, is a beautiful reminder of the power of love and of finding the joy in life. Their story is heartbreaking and inspiring in equal measure and a must-read.' Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester
'Nicola Nuttall gives a beautiful and emotionally-charged account of dealing with the news that her daughter, Laura, was given 12 months to live after a glioblastoma diagnosis and how she helped Laura tick off an incredible bucket list in the time she had left. Simultaneously heart-wrenching and inspiring, this book is a testament to the power of love, positivity, and family.' Jo Porter, the Brain Tumour Charity
'So powerful, so profoundly affecting, absolutely heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. What a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, and the enduring strength of love and family.' Clare Allan

Incredibly moving
I followed Nicola’s journey on Twitter over the years - and I was devastated when Laura passed last year. This book was an incredible account of Laura’s battle and truly touched me deeply - I found myself crying on the subway so I do not recommend reading during a commute! Nicola has the ability to capture her grief with such poignancy. I found myself breathless at some of her descriptions, but then a bit of dark humor (perhaps a bit of Laura?) would pop up to really capture the true mindf*ck she was experiencing. I’m a 35 year old woman living in New York City. I never met Laura and our worlds are thousands of miles apart - but she is regularly on my mind. This book has pushed me to be a better person in my life, a life I am lucky to have. I can’t recommend this book enough and each person touched by it will be one more person positively impacted by Laura’s legacy.
