Publisher's Summary

Dark legends come to life

With the execution of a serial killer known as the Artiste, Cheyenne Donegal thinks a grim part of her past is finally put to rest. Her cousin had been the twisted killer’s final victim, and then-teenage Cheyenne was integral in bringing him to justice. That tragedy drove her to become an FBI agent. And now she’s back in Louisiana, because someone is murdering young women in the same manner as the Artiste.

Krewe of Hunters agent Andre Broussard has deep ties in New Orleans and Cajun country beyond. He knows that more than one monster has stalked the bayou. Has a deadly threat been resurrected, or does someone have a dark inspiration?

With the life of a missing woman on the line, Cheyenne and Andre have to set aside their doubts about each other and work to discover the truth. The case is too close and too personal—but they can’t let it go, especially now that a ruthless killer has turned the tables and is hunting them.

Good book but horrible narrator

I love the Krewe of Hunter series. This new narrator is horrible. He made Cheyenne and Andre sound basically the same at times. He made Angela sound like a teenage valley girl and he made Jackson sound like he was in his 70s. Luke Daniels had a few issues with continuing the same accent for a few characters from one book to another but they were all realistic voices. They sound real. I finished the book and will still listen to the coming books because I want to read those books and don't have time to sit down and read them but it will be a struggle. Buyer beware that you'll get overly exaggerated characters and some characters that are just his voice. 🤞 that he does a better job at the next book.

narrator change

I prefer the original narrator of the series. There are strange pauses. The story line was still good though.

The book was really great as all of the other Krewe of Hunters series I was just disappointed that it wasn’t narrated by Luke Daniels he is so good and I love listening to him and thought he did such an amazing job with all the other books he narrated.
