Story
The holidays are upon us, and this year Audible is very happy to present to our members one of Charles Dickens’ most popular Christmas stories, The Cricket on the Hearth. This holiday classic (original subtitle: “A Fairy Tale of Home”) tells the innocent, picturesque, and charming story of a poor family and their would-be guardian angel; in short, a delightful vision of Victorian Christmas. As always, a great story calls for a great voice, so we’ve brought in legendary actor and record-breaking Audie and Grammy award-winning narrator Jim Dale ( The Night Circus). Happy holidays and happy listening!

The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Now they are all back in new adventures, for the first time approved by the Trustees of the Pooh Properties. This is a companion volume that truly captures the style of A. A. Her talent for capturing the perspective of children shines through Aunt Sass Christmas Stories. Each of the stories in this audiobook was written as a holiday gift, sent to her friends and family and never published. Now her millions of readers and listeners and generations of filmgoers will recognize how she used her life story to inform her fiction.

not what we expected
Neither myself nor my kids enjoyed this. I knew there were Carol's but I thought they'd be mingled in with the stories. Nope. It was 90% choir singing (which we are not fans of) and maybe 2 Christmas stories/poems. Wish I had not purchased.

I don’t recommend this book at all- find a better Christmas Carol album and skip this one!
