Requires a little patience, but worthwhile
I read this after O! Pioneers and enjoyed the beautiful writing and the early natural settings.
As Thea grows, with the help of a local doctor, a piano teacher and prodigious talent, she becomes quite self- centered and very famous. She works very hard and deserves success, but one is left wondering the cost.

Carrington McDuffie’s narration was astonishing, many voices and many languages. Willa Cather’s classic tale was fully realized in this recording.

Character sketch of a great artist
I really enjoyed this story. It was a times a little slow moving. They characterization was the absolute best part of the writing.
The reader was really what I liked the most... She added so much!
