Publisher's summary

Chase Baker is a true Renaissance Man. He's also a man who knows how to find trouble. A part-time resident of Florence, Italy, his resume reads like a modern day Da Vinci or Casanova. Writer, private investigator, tour guide, historian, treasure hunter, adventurer, and even archaeological sandhog, Chase is also a prolific lover. Unfortunately for him, his dangerous liaisons all too often make him the target of a jealous husband.

Now, at the direct request of the Florence police, he finds himself on the trail of an archaeologist by the name of Dr. Andre Manion who's gone missing from his teaching post at the American University. But having worked for the archaeologist several years ago as a sandhog on a secret but failed dig just outside the Great Pyramids in the Giza Plateau, Chase smells a renewed opportunity to uncover what just might be the most prized archaeological treasure in the world: The mortal remains of Jesus. But how will Chase Baker go about solving the mystery of finding both the archaeologist and the Jesus Remains?

With the help of Manion's beautiful ex-wife, Chase will manage to secure an up-close and personal examination of the Shroud of Turin, not only to view the famous image of the crucified Christ, but to unlock the relic's greatest secret, which is none other than a map, or a key, detailing the precise location of Jesus's body.

A romantic, action-packed, and thrilling mystery from New York Times and USA Today best-selling author, Vincent Zandri.

Private Investigator.....

Any additional comments?

Private Investigator, Treasure Hunter, Adventurer..

This is an action pact fast pace read with a few killings and a lot of shooting.

Chase, the main lead, is an arrogant womanizer who likes to travel.

Overall, the story was ok, if anything it had too much going on for me.

Andrew B. Wehrlen did well with the narration.

predictable story

I received this book free from ebalst, and this is my unbiased opion. It is an ok story. the plot is Indiana Jones meets Dan Brown. The diolog is painfully predictable, full of cliches you know what the characters are going to say before the narrator speaks.

Hooked me from the start

Interesting and captivating story, this one hooked me right away. I'm not one for anything religious but the story was intriguing enough to interest me. A fun enjoyable mystery/adventure. Reminded me a lot of Dan Brown's books.

The narrator gave a great performance.

Chase Baker shines in this first volume

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The one thing that comes readily to mind is the narration. The narrator sometimes moves too fast for the story and it begins to detract from the experience after a time.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The story itself was good. It had a very DaVinci Code-esque feel to it all, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Imagine Tony Stark as the main character in the DaVinci Code and you've got it pretty much nailed: Fast paced action coupled with appropriate doses of wit and humor.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Andrew B. Wehrlen?

I definitely would. He is a narrator that knows how to manipulate pace, timing, and intonation not only to control the flow of the story, but also to use it to contrast serious moments from lighthearted ones. This ability shines in the book, and helps make the experience all the better.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

I think I would go see it. I think that there is a definite sense of fun and humor injected into this book by the author, and I think that it would translate well on-screen.

Suspend disbelief.

Good story but multiple times it was necessary to suspend disbelief as when graphic artists appeared in the desert to paint a truck door with National Geographic logos. Many other such instances.
The staccato delivery and intermittent accent of random words made the performer difficult to understand. I'm surprised the editors have not informed him of the problem.

Good Premise, disliked outcome

Audio book provided for an honest review...Performance was good, well performed but story did not flow or resonate with me,maybe my faith caused too much of a Bias. Develop a story with some unknown element to prove that his has indeed risen, it can still be fiction if it is true.
