Publisher's summary

Wedding bells are ringing. Let the gunslinging begin!

Bo Creel and Scratch Morton are mighty proud. They managed to deliver five mail-order brides to the New Mexico mining town of Silverhill in one piece. The town is so grateful, they want to make Bo their marshal and Scratch his deputy. Bo and Scratch are happy to accept the job - and even happier to attend the weddings of the fine young women they brought here....

Cecelia has two young suitors - a well-off rancher and a low-born miner - but one of them is not what he seems. Tomboyish Rose has gotten herself roped into a cow-rustling scheme - with the wild young buck who's stolen her heart. Luella has a not-so-secret admirer of her own, a former journalist who's making headlines - with a gang of Mexican bandits. And the refined Jean Parker thinks she's finally found a suitable match in this raucous boomtown. But it turns out her educated doctor has a dis-honorary degree - in killing.

With marriage prospects like these, Bo and Scratch will have to fight tooth and nail to keep the ladies safe and sound - and a real shotgun wedding is about to begin.

Frontier Law At It's Finest

Love the way Letter of the Law and Frontier sense of Justice come together for a good ending.

Love J Rodney Turner

This series, probably not really written by Ms. J A Johnstone (and William Johnstone has been dead many years so HE didn’t write it) is a good listen.

Sometimes I wonder if people realize the speed of which they are listening. If it’s on the wrong speed, Mr. Turner‘s voice sounds slow and methodical. You need to make sure you have it properly fine tuned. As the years have gone by his voices have gotten better and you can differentiate the characters much easier with the later books like this one, rather than the earlier books. This particular series is a little different from the William Johnstone series of books that were written by him. Perhaps not as interesting as most of HIS work, but if you look at it from the standpoint it’s a new writer, I think you’d enjoy it more. I really did enjoy it a lot!

Never a dull moment

Two old drifters with a tease for adventure find themselves escorting mail in brides. More action was involved then the Indian wars and outlaw chasing. Colorful characters and unlikely romantic matches make for weddings of the heart. Fun and action packed!

Interesting and fairly face-paced

I like westerns and hearing about days gone by.
I look forward to the next release.

I love this series.

I can not wait for the next installment. Parts of this book had me cracking up. I truly enjoy the narrator his voice reminds me of Sam Elliot. It’s not exact but you get my meaning. The Rattle Snake Ridge series was good too.

Boring, monotone narrator.

J. Rodney Turner is the most boring, monotone narrator it has been my displeasure to listen to. On top of that, 'The Shotgun Wedding' by the Johnston's isn't one of their finest stories. I am sorry I purchased this ebook and even more sorry I purchased this Audible book. Neither one was worth the time or the money.
