I have just finished The Shipyard Girls and enjoyed it very much indeed . . . It has all the essentials of a good saga: well-drawn, believable, sympathetic characters, storylines which keep the reader turning the page and a very authentic background . . . The special bond that develops between the women makes it a very well rounded novel and will I’m sure have readers eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. (Lyn Andrews)

Set in Sunderland at the start of WW2 tough doesn’t begin to describe the hard graft the Shipyard Girls experienced building battle ships for the Navy. Though often weary, heartbroken and terrified they have the dogged determination of conscripted women who will never give up – whatever fate throws at them. The Narrator was good but it ends there.....

The only good thing about this book was the narrator. But life is too short to suffer through a book that is shallow or silly. It might appeal more to a teen audience....?

More Shipyard Girls Series, PLEASE!?!

I really hope Audible will make sure to finish Nancy Revell’s book series here. They already have Book #2, which I’m ready to start. But there are at least 3 more books to this series.
I love Amazon Kindle, however once I start listening to a series (like Ellie Dean’s Beach View Boarding House books), I want to finish up the same way.
I know I can’t be the only American who loves WWII Home Front books from a British
perspective?!
