Publisher's Summary

From best-selling and award-winning author Beth Wiseman comes the latest addition to her popular Surf's Up series. Each Surf’s Up novella takes the listener to a beach locale, weaving romance and adventure into a soul-soothing journey of hope.

Carianna's story is a heartwarming tale which follows one woman's journey as she navigates the many types of love God gifts to us.

“People tell me that I’m special. I don’t see it that way. I’m just different.” - Carianna Marie Sparks

Carianna isn’t like other 26-year-old women. She’s never been on a date, never experienced the euphoria of a first kiss, and certainly never been in love. Can a man’s heart speak to hers in a way that she can understand? And if so, will any man believe that she sings with the angels and has tea with God? Will they see the star dust twinkling in her eyes or hear the secret whispers of the ocean in a sea shell?

Dominic is grieving the death of his mother, so he welcomes a job opportunity that takes him to a beach community near the Texas coast. But what begins as a distraction and change of scenery shifts into a healing journey filled with discovery.

Amidst his heartache, Dominic finds love in a beautiful and unexpected way when he meets Carianna - the shell collector’s daughter. But can Dominic convince Carianna’s father to lift his protective wings and allow Carianna to soar into the life that God meant for her? And will Carianna hear Dominic’s heart speaking to hers in a way that she understands?

Other books in this series: A Tide Worth Turning, Message in a Bottle, and Christmas by the Sea. With over two million books sold, Beth Wiseman is also the author of three popular Amish series - The Daughters of the Promise, The Land of Canaan, and Amish Secrets, along with over 20 Amish novellas.

Unique

This story was a bit harder for me to get into. It was not really my preferred style, but as with all of Ms. Wiseman’s books I’ve read, it was a nice read. The characters are well developed, and the setting described. The love for each other and the faith of the characters is evident. Once again, Ms. White lends her voice beautifully to bring the characters alive with appropriate tones and voices for each. I was provided with a free copy of this audio book for my honest review. The views expressed here are entirely my own.

Enjoyable

Mustang Island and San Juan, Texas a story of Carianna and Dominic, she has a different world that she relates to. They both have secrets, and are drawn to one another. Short story but well done. Given ARC audio which was enjoyable by Cecila White for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

The Shell Collectors daughter

A sheltered woman talks with god about the next man that will come into her life and the one that will leave.I found the main character very odd. The story did not connect at all with me.Cecily White was a fine narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Lovely , sweet story!

** I am reviewing the audio book, from audible, which has the 4 surf’s up collection in a box set** This Novella, was incredibly sweet. Just like the main character Carianna. i love the way she saw things differently. She was always looking for the good, and seemed to be full of love. I also love the Tea with God idea. In fact, all the characters accept the bad guys were wonderful. Nanny was a hoot. Beth Wiseman is really great at conveying emotions and getting the reader to feel them. I also enjoyed learning about the different food that was cooked, and the shells. The narration again was great. I will be looking for more books by this narrator. Would highly recommend this book, and if you are in to audio books, and you can get the box set for one credit from audible, then it’s a credit worth spending. I was given a free copy of this audio book at my request, and have voluntarily left an honest review.

The Shell Collector’s Daughter

A sweet contemporary romance with strong religious undertones. I did enjoy the story but I had a difficult time connecting with the characters. Cecily White’s narration was well done, and I would certainly listen to more of her performances. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
